I think it’s only the old baseball “purists” in the sports media and fans that think a pitching duel is interesting.

That really makes for a boring game for the fans and players.

Similar to a soccer game of 1-nil, or an NFL game of 3-0.

Koufax’s perfect game was pretty exciting. Bob Hendley, the Cubs’ pitcher gave up only one hit to the Dodgers (which had nothing to do with the Dodgers’ one run). After about the sixth inning, I don’t think anyone was bored. Of course listening to Scully on the radio call the game made it even better.
