For a baseball battle that was scoreless until the sixth inning, Game 4 of the 2017 World Series knock the drama out of the park in the end last night.
When the Los Angeles Dodgers Joc Pederson delivered a three-run homer in the ninth inning, Game 4 went from grinder to jaw dropper at Minute Maid Park in Houston. A result that saw the Dodgers win 6-2 over the Houston Astros and break their two game losing streak to tie up the 2017 World Series 2-2.
A result that led to celebrations in packed establishments all over L.A., more than a few Halloween parties in the City of Angeles likely being more sparsely attended and some taking a rest from their Stranger Things 2 binge for the ball game. It was also a very good night for Fox.
Scoring a 10.6/20 in metered market results, Game 4 of the 2017 World Series was a home run for the broadcaster.
First of all, after lagging behind the historic 2016 World Series so far, last nights Dodgers vs, Astros match-up topped last years Game 4 between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians on October 29, 2016 by a tenth in the early ratings. In fact, last nights Game 4 was the second best MM result the 2017 World Series has had so far, behind Game 2 on October 25 in L.A. It was also tied for the best Game 4 MM result since 2009.

You can help make it happen.
This is great stuff folks. Rediscover your first love.
Take that, NFL!
NFL thug effect...
Really getting tired of four hour games as a a result of meetings on the mound and changing pitchers after every batter. Commercials, commercials, commercials. Crapola! I’ll check the late news.
Another pitchers duel. Until the 9th. I like them on occasion. Too many for me this post season.
Although I’m slightly favoring the Astros I’m not really opposed to a Dodgers win. This has been a great series so far.
“This has been a great series so far.”
Only 2012 compared.
As for those who think baseball is boring, go watch the NFL!
We don’t need you to beat their ratings.
I think last year’s series was pretty good.
Only because of the Cubs 100+ year drought.
They games were generally mediocre.
Nothing beats the 1992 and 1993 series. Best. Ever. :)
Viewership is shifting from the NFL to MLB - me included
Jerry Jones is trying to unseat NFL commish Goodell, and apparently has 16 other owners listening. 17 owners would be a majority....hmmm.
First game was only 2.5 hours long.
Yeah, I think people are fed up with the NFL and are going back to baseball.
Houston please beat North Mexico!
They’ve been great games to watch that’s for sure.
