Bruce Maxwell, the only Major League Baseball player to kneel during the national anthem this season, has been arrested on a gun charge.
The Oakland Athletics catcher allegedly pointed a gun at a female food delivery person in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Scottsdale police said officers went to Maxwell's home Saturday night after getting a call about a person with a gun. Maxwell was booked on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.
Police said Maxwell was held in custody pending an initial appearance.

I just think of some poor kid delivering a pizza or whatever and she has to put up with that and get the crap scared out of her. Some athletes are whacked in the head with the painful combination of overwhelming arrogance coupled with deep seeded feelings of inadequacy. This dude needs help before he does something really stupid.

It’s not enough to be rich, famous, and admired. He has to be a “victim of racism” if his life is going to have any meaning.
In a way, it does point up the fact that being a professional athlete is a pretty meaningless achievement, of less use to humanity than being a competent truck driver or janitor.

A jack ass like Maxwell would have lasted about 10 minutes on the Billy Martin managed Oakland A’s.

Qs NOT answered by the article: Does Maxwell possess a firearm/s? If so, does he have a license for it/them? If not, why not more charges? Why did Maxwell allegedly pull a gun on the woman? Were there any other witnesses?
Nothing says stop the hate and increase the peace like pointing a handgun at a lowly pizza delivery girl. And now that he’s in custody if he thinks his anti racism shtick will ingratiate himself with his fellow inmates he’s got another thing coming, in more ways than one.
Of all the overpaid pampered jocks that get arrested a YYYUUUGE number of them are also charged with illegal gun possession. Strange how the gun control groups NEVER take the NFL to task over this. Oh,yeah, it would screw up the NBA is racist narrative.

While in KC the A's were sold again to Charles Finley who wasted little time becoming a loose cannon. He used Louisville as leverage while pleading for a new stadium, and when that didn't work, he moved them to Oakland's new stadium.
In Oakland, Finley, like Mack, won multiple WS, then broke them up over money matters.
Lately the A's have been pleading for a new stadium *again*.
