On another thread I was praying for you to survive the day. I guess it was an old thread. Gd is smarter than me so I asked Him to apply my fervent prayers for your recovery instead to give you an ass kicking great day today. So you better have one. And look both ways when you cross the street, man!

So you are no longer an addict. And you don't have an illness or a disease.
You don't have to jump off a cliff to understand gravity and death. And you don't have to be an addict to understand addiction.
You made a CHOICE to control and stop your addiction. Just like you made a choice to become and continue your addiction. You should be proud of your choice rather than consign your behavior to being the victim of an illness you had no control over.
The human mind controls human behavior.
Science.

I am very much an alcoholic. The difference is I get a daily reprieve. One day at a time. I never said I was a ‘victim. For today, and only for today I live usefully and walk humbly under the eyes of God.’’ A diabetic is not a ‘’victim’’ nor suffers from bad ‘’character’’. Do yourself a favor and attend an open(open to all comers, no self-identifying) AA meeting and get a insight into addiction. No one there's blames anything or anyone else for the behavior.
