Homeschooling costs a family as little as a couple hundred a year. Public school is some $6000+/child.
It's a lie, there isn't such a thing.
The public, other than pay and pay and pay....gets what? Babysitting. Every year we see higher prices for lower education (insuring they don't receive any) Despite the highest costs per student (another lie, they see none of it) we have some of the worst learning results in the world.
The public has little-to-nothing to say about what goes on in the classroom.
The black literacy rate 120 years ago was higher than it is today!

A school I was at actually had another FReeper there.
Upon analysis, I concluded she was part of the problem. She was running out the clock until retirement.
I went to public school for three years,after 9 years in the Catholic Schools.
This was back in the 1970s and the Catholic Schools had better teachers.
Got straight A's the three years in public school,was on the Honor role,it was very easy.

These are just excuses to avoid doing the gritty work really required: for conservatives to become teachers and steer things back in the direction they used to go. You could not handle it. And because you have no idea what it’s like, you have no more useful advice to give than Pajama Boy can tell how the military should be run.
Yes, it’s a very difficult job. This is my 14th year, and I won’t last much longer. But I wish more conservatives would get in there and fight.

The work required is to: abolish the DoED, the state depts of ed, decertify the teachers unions, pass voucher legislation at the state level, and return the schools to local control. All the conservative teachers you can muster cannot accomplish that.

Of course I do. I've spoken to a few Republican teachers (I couldn't find a lot) they spoke to me in hushed tones, and live in constant fear that they'll be found out, living a secret life, staying to themselves at break-time and after hours. They said it was OK when they started out, but it's gotten worse and worse as time goes by. They only stay now so they won't lose their retirement benefits.
They told me it was the worst decision they ever made in their lives.
If you want to do some good, gather your cohorts and start a private school, join a charter school lobby. Go to DC and browbeat RINOs.

Yes, I talked to Republican teachers. I've also talked to education majors ...the dumbest people on the planet.
I've sat in on committees for weeks and I've heard it all. I've been threatened, talked down to and sworn at....all by allegedly civilized members of the "educator" community.
I've been berated and dismissed by representatives of the Principal's Association and the Superintendent's Association (more unions for incompetent redundant overpaid parasites)
I know how much of the taxpayer's hard earned money is thrown down the "education" RAThole. And most of it goes to the overpaid/underskilled perverts, babysitting our children.
If anyone is lacking in the skills to educate children, it's the mainstream moonbat educRAT. They turn out graduates with no writing and spelling skills, many functionally illiterate, no knowledge of history, no life skills, no concept of our Constitution and who have no clue when it comes to knowing the difference between right and wrong.
Additionally, now they're being "educated" that it's OK to be queer or deny your natural "sexual ID".

Those good teachers will find jobs in proper schools, or start their own.

If the so-called “conservative” teachers really cared about kids they would be working to close the government schools down.
Exactly, it’s not even salvageable. I told her that in my first post. Shut down the schools and rent out the buildings to someone who wants to run a school.
