Gold Star mom: I felt disrespected by Obama

My column on Gen. John Kelly and whether previous presidents always made condolence calls to the families of fallen soldiers produced an outpouring of both praise for Kelly and vitriol for his criticism of a Florida congresswoman.

Yet a note from a Colorado woman, Julie Schrock, stands out in the crowd. Her Marine son, Corporal Max Donahue, was severely injured in Afghanistan in 2010, and later died. He was 23. Here is what she wrote:

“I’m a Gold Star mother and it pains me to see what is happening. The media bias is obvious to anyone willing to dig a little deeper than just believing what they hear on the news.

“When my son died, then President Obama not only made no effort to reach out, but the condolence letter we received was signed by a computer. He didn’t even sign the letter!

“Then, when I received multiple copies of the letter, I was told there was a computer ‘glitch’ that wasn’t fixed yet so more would probably keep coming and I should just throw them away. Not even a Sorry!

“I anonymously reported this to our local news station, which ran it one time versus the three days of Trump mishandling of a Gold star condolence. Sad and hurtful to say the least.”

Only Republicans can disrespect Gold Star families. Democrats don't care enough about them to disrespect them. They don't even matter. Think Benghazi.

Did you read the article? Not only did Zero not call, she got a machine signature on her letter and I glitch sent the same condolence letter time after time after time! No one apologized, just told her to throw them away as they arrived because it was a glitch and she’d get more. TERRIBLE handling by the Zero administration.

A. And disclaimer: I was never a Trump guy until the election, although I voted for him. I was shocked to discover he became a racist on 11-9-16. He must have become one that day because no one noticed it before.

B. Call me weird. I think Trump has a genuine liking for your average guy whether he be a tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor or your run of the mill Indian Chief.

C. Now, can you imagine the liberal and press horror if Trump had called the other three and skipped this one? Great Caesar's Ghost!
