If he’s so good, why go straight to the US Senate without proving to voters that he’s a real Republican? Kid Rock may rub some people (Democrats) the wrong way, but at least I KNOW he’s a Republican and not a RINO, or worse, an undercover Democrat. He has to PROVE to a skeptical GOP base through ACTIONS and VOTES that he’s a real conservative. One of the best ways is to run for a lower elected office and act like a real Republican in that position.
The Uniparty is scared ****less by the prospect of a Kid Rock win. If a guy like that can win a Senate seat...Katy, bar the door!
You could say the same about your hero, Kid Rock. How do you really know he's a conservative? Because he says so?
First of all Kid Rock is not running, and second of all, he’s definitely not much of a conservative and openly pro-”choice” on abortion. The “lower office” thing you call for is also no guarantee of anything - we’ve seen that before...and sometimes they start out strong then fizzle out over time. There’s no guarantee. It can also be a disadvantage as it can give an opponent a voting record to pick at and attack you with - Mr. James won’t have that. Of course anyone can have something lurking in their closet that could be unearthed as well by an opponent - or simply invented.
Look at who the establishment is pushing instead of John James - Fred Upton - who might be a fine guy, but he has also been in Congress for 30 years. Hardly a fresh face and someone who could campaign on Stabenow being in Washington too long and being out of touch with Michigan voters - a big component of a campaign that would be an asset against her you automatically toss out the window if he was nominated. John James would be a fresh face and a much more formidable opponent...but of course he needs the $$$ to get to that level to oust an incumbent Senator.
