John McCain came from a respected naval family. He made it through the naval academy which is no easy thing. Became a naval aviator and a POW. If he had stopped there he would have had a honorable and exceptional life. He had to ruin it all by getting into politics. The Keating 5 and his later political career destroyed anything positive. He is going to go down as a failure who accomplished nothing after he came home from Vietnam. Such a waste.

To those in the know, maybe.

To the news media he is the great hero who stood up to all foolish and evil Republicans, and especially to President Trump, and he will celebrated as such as long (not long now) as they can use him against decency and common sense.

When you look at this college records, he fails. He graduated somewhere around 780 out of a class of 790.

When he got into flight training, something nobody else could do, he screwed off there.

His first aircraft loss was overshooting the end of the runway and wound up in the ocean at the end of the runway.

He claimed engine trouble. They hauled the aircraft out of the water. Dried it off and prepped it. It started right up, no problem.

He was supposed to fly a certain number of hook landings on an aircraft carrier. The number was five if I recall accurately. He did one or two.

His trainer was really upset. He didn’t think he was ready.

This opens up a whole can of worms regarding this flight service. Was he ready? Was he qualified? Was his loss over Vietnam avoidable? I’m not sure.’

I do know that there was a certain route that our forces were using prior to McCain being shot down and captured. That route became compromised shortly after his POW stint started.

The problem I have with all this, is how much of a screw-up McCain had been prior to his flight school training ending. I mean his whole life was a sordid string of screw-ups and special treatment.

During college or his Naval flight school days, he kept an apartment in the city. (think it was his college days) Anyone else would have been drummed out. He wasn’t.

Did his lack of dedication cost him later on? It may have.

After his military career, he was the same man he had been before his Naval career. He was a screw off.

I give the guy very little respect.

This is more than seven years old. I worked it up during McCain’s run to get re-elected in 2010.

It’s seven years old so some of the links are bad.
