The most popular parlor game in Washington: Who will replace Tillerson?
WaPo ^ | Oct 22, 2017 | Josh Rogin

The most popular parlor game in Washington right now is speculating who will replace Rex Tillerson as President Trump’s next secretary of state, a thankless job in an administration that has downgraded the role of the State Department and diplomacy overall. But two qualified and apparently willing candidates have emerged.
[snip]
As several excruciating profiles have detailed, Tillerson’s main legacy will likely be a State Department depleted of talent, with the lowest morale in decades and playing a reduced role in the crafting and implementation of U.S. foreign policy. His successor’s primary mission will be to reverse that trend. The top two contenders, Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and CIA Director Mike Pompeo, offer different paths for recovery.

Haley has been praised both externally and within the Trump team during her short tenure in New York City. She’s credited with “getting it done ” on matters such as North Korea sanctions and toughening up the U.S. stance at the United Nations.
[snip]
Pompeo would be a secretary of state with deeper ties to Trump and views that align more with those of the White House. He is more hawkish on Iran than Haley is. As he demonstrated in remarks last week, he is willing to play down Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Of the two, Haley would be better, IMHO.

“”Bolton still won’t shave?””

Is that a serious concern? He should have been named at the beginning....tho’ I don’t have a problem with Tillerson so far.

[You can’t call your boss, especially when your boss is the president, a
“fucking moron” and not get fired. Trump should have fired him immediately.]

When someone would order the wrong color table linens on “The Apprentice”, they would get “fired”....

A subordinate calls the boss a “f-ing moron”, yet still has a job.....

I really don’t get it!

Neither one, they are both Deep State operatives.

Foggy Bottom needs a thorough cleaning, decades of anti-American buildup needs to be purged.

Trump has appointed very successful, high level people to top positions, not political funkies like Obama did.

High power, successful people tend to have strong personalities and a high degree of confidence in their solutions and approaches to problems, and it is reasonable to assume that there is not a yes man among them

I have no doubt there are some very animated discussions when several of these guys get together with Trump to hash out a solution to a problem and a few of these guys may from time to time forget to check their ego at the door when entering a meeting.

Not sure this is bad thing after the losers, hacks and yes men (and women) from the Obama years. At least we have no indications Rex is being bribed to approve of selling 20% of Americas Uranium ore reserves to the Russians. That alone is a step up from the past .

imho, the less the current Nazi and Islamo-infested Snake Dept has to do with American policy, the better.
far better.

the only influence those moles should have is, maybe, what kind of sandwich they get served for lunch in prison

Haley looks good so far from what I’ve seen from NYC.
Pompeo I do not know so will express no opinion.

DJTrump ran promising to Drain the WashDC Swamp. The deepest part of the Swamp is in the Snake Dept (plus, of course, Obama’s enemy agents in some intelligence, military, and security positions). Until we see maybe 5,000 “early retirements” maybe 10,000? maybe just 3,000? (pure guess numbers)... including most of Obama’s appointments, you know that President Trump hasn’t gotten around to Draining the Swamp yet.

This is coming from the same Wapo that told us a 1 year ago from today that there is no way Trump would ever be President.

This was according to their polls, sources and what insiders are saying.

So when you read this Bull$hit... Keep that in mind.

Remember the Washington Post would be out of business if it ran by true Free Market principals. It’s a joke and nothing but the DC Establishment publication that hate President Trump.

The Washington Post is nothing but scum.

Tillerson’s main legacy will likely be a State Department depleted of useless talent, with the lowest morale of deep state employees in decades, maybe rivaling the EPA.

When Tillerson took over the State Department was a bloated organization, doling out $ millions on useless causes, and making policy that did not benefit Americans.

Under Tillerson's leadership, the Department of State is on its way to being an efficient and effective organization that benefits Americans.

When directly asked, by Jake Tapper on State of the Union, Tillerson REFUSED to deny it. If he didn't say it, he would have said so. He doesn't want to lie, because people heard him say it, so he can't deny it.
