So far, this guaranteed income idea has been discussed in Germany, but it doesn’t make any headway with the general public.
I wouldn’t necessarily even refer to them as real criminals. These are mostly all losers...unhirable...drug usage being habitual...etc. I think if the state authorities would require a mental exam...most would fail (either because of mental disorders or loss of brain cells). The state and city authorities really don’t want to step in because then they’d get the bill for housing the idiots full-time. So it’s cheaper to just let them roam...spend what marginal pocket money they get via social agencies.
I’ve lived around Germany since 1978, and it’s just surprising for me to walk through any urban area (especially Frankfurt) and see the population growth of losers on the street. A lot of this has nothing to with immigration or migration...it’s Germans in their 30s and 40s who’ve given up. You can find German teens now (15 and 16 years old), who’ve packed up...left home, and now live under bridges and beg off the street. That wouldn’t have existed in the 1970s or 1980s.
European cultures have collapsed; they forgot their roots (or were forced to forget them), and now they have nothing. Happening right here in the US as well; many of our tattooed, drugged-up, uneducated/untrained young people are acting in the same manner.
