Donald Trump is criticized, often justly, for misstatements of facts and failure to understand the details of public policy. But in two of his most recent controversial actions, he has taken stands upholding the rule of law and undoing the lawless behavior of his most recent predecessor.
The question now is whether the author of "The Art of the Deal" -- and congressional Republicans and Democrats -- can maneuver and compromise on these issues in ways that produce sensible public policy.
The first action in question was Trump's Sept. 5 announcement that he would withdraw Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which gave immigrants brought to the United States illegally when they were children protection from deportation.

Why do DemocRats believe that Obama’s blatantly unconstitutional DACA executive order cannot be overridden by Trump’s executive order?
he has taken stands upholding the rule of law and undoing the lawless behavior of his most recent predecessor

His 3 most recent predecessors were all pursuing a bipartisan policy started by GHWB to change the demographics of this country through non-enforcement of laws and borders.
ALL of the NeverTrump nonsense is driven by the desire to keep the citizens from restoring the rule of law.
They have been actively thwarting every effort by the citizens to stop the illegal alien inundation.
Correction: His 4 most recent predecessors have been pursuing a policy of demographic change.
Keeping the citizens from keeping their country is what it is all about.
We (and our freedoms) are what stands in the way of the new world order that they envision.
Should have been done in January.
Continuing to protect fraudulently documented foreigners from our laws was wrong.
And nothing will infuriate his voters more than retaining the lawless, dream stealing DACA fifth column of law destroying whiners.
No vote. No citizenship. Instant deportation for crime. No chain in. Parents out.O. K. But do not reward.
Nothing has destroyed respect for the Rule of Law than illegal immigrants.
Remember, they thought that they had this locked up. First the non-partisan (wink-wink) Supreme Court Judge, Merrick Garland, gets his seat and then Hillary wins in 2016. DACA is never contested on the Executive level and she would just reinstate it if some foolish lower court judge questioned it.
As a former President once put it; "Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won. January 23, 2009.
