Former President Barack Obama called on fellow Democrats to reject politics of “division” and “fear” while rallying on Thursday at the side of his former ambassador to Germany, who is running for governor in New Jersey.

Obama did not mention Republican President Donald Trump in his speech while standing next to Democratic nominee Phil Murphy, but he told the crowd at a Newark hotel that “you can send a message to the country and you will send a message to the world that we are rejecting a politics of division. We are rejecting a politics of fear.”

“Some of the politics we see now we thought we put that to bed,” Obama said. “That’s folks looking 50 years back. It’s the 21st century, not the 19th century.” …

Right; he just told the Dems to reject all of their politics. Never mind his having practiced division and fear for eight years.

The 19th Century had a lot going for it.

This is the guy who spent eight years hyped up on an agenda of dividing up the Democratic Party, and not having a single care in the world over working-class Democrats. They are the ones who crossed the line in Michigan, Ohio, Penn, etc....to give Trump the victory.

In Richmond, Virginia, Obama weakly addressed a crowd of a few thousand Obamabot deadbeats. He mocked Republican candidate Ed Gillispie for not campaigning with POTUS, Donald J. Trumop. Trump has endorsed Gillispie.

IMHO, Virginia is open to a GOP victory on November 7th. I do believe that POTUS, Trump should head to Virginia to have a massive campaign rally for Ed Gillipie. I think the Trump visit would put Gillispie over the top with victory.

Trump get down to Virginia over the next week or two. It would really bolster and boost the Gillispie campaign.

The Obama rally in New Jersey only had between 200-300 attendees and the rally in Richmond was populated with campaign workers and few African-Americans considering the “Obama” appearance!!! Not looking so good for the Democrats. Obama no longer has any worthwhile political MoJo.

Remember when he said voting is the best revenge and punish THEM at the polls?
That’s uniting phrases there for sure.

Oh sure, “get in their faces”, “elections have consequences”, ad nauseam. Lots of uniting stuff.

Typical doublespeak. Politics IS division. By definition.

"Obama tells Democrats to reject politics of division, fear"

No surprise. It's his hypocritic oath.

It is odd that Obama came to NJ for a race the media has already decided for the Dems; NJ is liberal on many issues but race isn’t one of them. I wonder if they know black support for a rich white guy isn’t there...

These are all the things 0bama promoted and practiced . Divide and conquer but it didn’t work . Instead it unified his adversaries ,, the conservatives reacted and DJT won because there was finally someone who has responded to the majorities’ desires .
