Tom Perez, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, purged several long time officials, most of whom had supported DNC vice chairman Rep. Keith Ellison in his bid for the chairmanship.
The officials were replaced by Hillary Clinton supporters, riling the progressive wing of the party and demonstrating that the Democrats are in no position to take advantage at the ballot box of any GOP dissension.
Complaints began immediately after party officials saw a list of Perez' appointments to DNC committees and his roster of 75 "at-large" members, who are chosen by the chair.
The removal and demotion of a handful of veteran operatives stood out, as did what critics charge is the over-representation of Clinton-backed members on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which helps set the terms for the party's presidential primary, though other Sanders and Ellison backers remain represented.

Rev up the black ambulance van, polish the walker and wake up “Diazepam Man”! Hillary is prepping for run number three!
Kicking the Bernies off the plantation. LOL.
Good... Goooooood.
Wouldn’t it be fun if “no one” were a choice in all elections?
Some hate America people replaced with other hate America people. Call me when the democratics appoint any America first folks.
In the unlikely event that any of the propaganda media even covers the story, will any of them bother to ask why the DNC Chairman gets to pick 75 members of the DNC? We are not talking about staff, who properly serve at the pleasure of the Chairman. We are talking about members, who in a truly democratic party (as opposed to a Leninist party) should be elected by Democratic voters.
There are a lot of people here who like to grouse about the RNC. From their comments, it is clear that most of them don't have a clue who the RNC is. For the record, every member of the RNC is elected by his state or territorial party, each of which chooses a National Committeeman, National Committeewoman, and a state chairman. These folks comprise the RNC, which then hires a staff to go out and do whatever. If you are mad at the RNC, take it up with your state party. Maybe run yourself. The RNC is a representative body, and if you think the RNC is squishy, take it up with the Republican voters in the blue states who elect the squishes to represent them.
Excellent. The media talks up GOP divisions while ignoring the progtard v. Clinton establishment democrat civil war.
Well said. In many cases, the squishes face no opposition. They’re the only ones that come forward. But those who have no interest beyond voting in a primary wouldn’t know that.
I thought it was Hillary supporters who were purged.
