A man was arrested in Stuarts Draft by members of the Skyline Drug Task Force two weeks ago. Gustavo Guillen Cruz was deported three years ago after a Waynesboro conviction.

Cruz, 28, was charged on Oct. 6 in Stuarts Draft with possession of methamphetamine.

Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft used to be really nice little towns.
Before the wave of illegal aliens of the Bush years, Virginia had not really seen the devastation of the illegal alien inundation.

I was looking at a little farm on Lee Highway near Stewart’s Draft, and couldn’t figure out why it was so cheap. I went to see it, and it had steel doors and bars on the windows of the house, out in the middle of nowhere.

It seemed strange to me, until I left going North, and the first thing on the road was an old motel that had been converted into run-down public housing. This little farm was the only thing within walking distance.

I passed on that property.

If one is ‘deported after a conviction’ rather than serving time as a result of the conviction then no meaningful consequences are faced. Why wouldn’t he try again?
