RAQQA, Syria — U.S.-backed militias in Syria declared victory over Islamic State in its capital Raqqa on Tuesday, raising flags over the last jihadist footholds after a four-month battle.

The fighting was over and the alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias was clearing the city's stadium of mines and any remaining militants, said Rojda Felat, commander of the Raqqa campaign for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). A formal declaration of victory in Raqqa will soon be made, once the city has been cleared of mines and any possible Islamic State sleeper cells, said SDF spokesman Talal Selo.

Let the "refugees" start streaming back now, for surely there will soon be no longer a need for them to be in Europe or America, right, Barack??

I’m happy we are finally ridding the world of ISIS, but I fear this is like treating a systemic cancer that will mutate and pop up somewhere else.

Even the Third Reich, meant to “last a thousand years”, survived for twelve years (1933-1945), The Islamic State lasted scarcely three.

Merely clearing out the Islamic State does not mean the conflict is over, it shall only change focus. The Kurds will be agitating for a homeland to be carved out of Syria, Iraq, Iran and Turkey, and whatever pockets in other nearby countries may be found. The Russian-Iranian axis is still trying to protect Bashar al-Assad, while the Deep State in the US is still trying to depose him through the various “revolutionary fronts” in Syria. To this end, the former Islamic State may well be recruited into the ranks of these “revolutionary fronts”.

Funny too, ISIS claimed their army as Allah’s only true army/martyr’s. I wonder how Allah is feelin’?

And I had FoxNews on the radio yesterday, when Marie Barf claimed the victory was due to Obama Admin policies. Not kidding. Always claiming credit but never taking responsibility. And Big Media eats it up. She also said that ISIS wasn’t the result of Obama policies, but (yep, you guessed it) GWB and his policies/actions against Al Qaeda! I cannot remember who the ‘Conservative in the discussion was, but he did school her. Her comment after was ‘well, we both have to stick up for or Administrations’. So, She admitted she was just parroting Obama talking points.

Of course it will. I told my son, 14 years old when 9/11 happened, that this would be a forever war. That you cannot negotiate with those who have no regard for their own lives. You just have to kill them.
