Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says a bill passed by the House that would ban most abortions in the country past the fifth month of pregnancy will get a vote in the Senate and is supported by virtually all GOP senators.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) introduced the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act two days after it was approved by the House, and President Donald Trumps administration has indicated it will sign the 20-week abortion ban into law if passed by both chambers of Congress.
But, the House has passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Children Protection Act before only to see it disgracefully languish in the Senate without even a debate or fair up or down vote, Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) who introduced the bill in the House wrote in an op-ed at Fox News.
McConnell told reporters, according to the Hill, during a joint press briefing with President Trump, the bill is supported by virtually all of my members, and we expect to have a vote on it at some point.

C'mon Yurtle, name names...
Names might be useful, come primary season.
What part of “God-created” child at conception don’t these dolts get?
Several Rino Senators who aren’t up for election next year will vote no and the rest will take credit for their yes vote. We’ve seemn this many times.
Like right after the next election...or the one after that...or the...
Oh come one you already know this: Murkowski and Collins
Oh come on you already know this: Murkowski and Collins
I am sure Lisa Turdkowski, Alaskas shame, is one who is not for it.
She won her seat from Lilly livered RINOs and Democrats.
He’s got 30 “no” votes in his pocket, he only needs four, he can tell the rest to vote “yes”, every time one of his “noes” switches to “yes”, by some miracle, another “no” shows up.
This act is getting really, really old.
If Congress banned abortions, what would they do when they knocked up their mistresses?
The first murderer/woman to be denied a late term abortion because of this law, if it passes, will sue.
And she’ll win.
100% certain.
But the process will take so long that that particular baby will be spared.
Thus we should proceed. We MIGHT even find a USSC willing to shave Roe.
Alas, I fear even Republicans don’t have the character to pass it. They would be more concerned about losing the 73 votes in their district/state that wouldn’t vote for them anyway.
We can all guess a few, can’t we?
Susan Collins.
Roe v. Wade has established that the State has a compelling interest to protect viable life and can step in if it chooses.
Yeah, but... will this pass muster in the Courts? After all, there is the guaranteed US Constitutional right to abortion.
