The chairman of the influential Senate Armed Services Committee said Tuesday he'll hold up President Donald Trump's nominees for key Defense Department posts until the administration delivers details about its new strategy for the war in Afghanistan.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said his committee needs the particulars in order to properly outfit the U.S. armed forces with training and equipment.
"If we don't get the information we need, we can't do that," he told reporters.
McCain said the Trump administration acts as though Congress isn't a co-equal branch of government, "and that they don't have to respond to what the Constitution says."
Trump in August outlined in broad strokes his plan for Afghanistan, declaring that American troops would "fight to win" by attacking enemies, "crushing" al-Qaida and preventing terrorist attacks against Americans. As part of the plan, the Pentagon is boosting troop numbers by about 3,500, augmenting the roughly 11,000 Americans currently stationed there.

Mccain is probably not going to win the cancer battle and so congress don’t want to be called names for removing him from his destructive votes. He’s not in his right mind.. for more than one reason.....
It’s possible the cancer can effect the brain... he’s dealing with having a disease that he can’t win.... and it makes a person either spiritual or angry.... it looks like mccain is angry and going to take it out on anyone he has a gripe against. He’s holding nothing back and I’d think his family... his immediate family.... would keep him from a legacy he’s gonna end up with.. the one we all will remember.

Where does it say anything about Senate committees in the Constitution? Why does a pompous ass sitting on a committee have the authority dictate to the President? Where does it say the President can be prevented from doing his job by a vindictive, brain damaged egotist? Too bad we don’t have anyone in the Senate with the stones to take this on.

The man needs to be replaced on the Senate. He has served his time.
McCain is intensely jealous because he thinks himself of as a war hero and lost the presidential election to a Muslim, while a man who never served in military easily beat the smartest woman candidate who was leading in every poll.
What a horrible state of affairs when the first possibility you think of is this U.S. Senator could be trying to get intel to leak to the enemy.
