Iraq forces take oil fields dashing Kurdish dreams

Iraqi forces took control of the two largest oil fields in the disputed northern province of Kirkuk on Tuesday demolishing Kurdish hopes of creating a viable independent state.

The Kurds withdrew without a fight after federal government troops and militia entered the city of Kirkuk and seized the provincial governor's office and key military bases in response to a Kurdish vote for independence last month.

The fields accounted for around 250,000 barrels per day of the 650,000 bpd that the autonomous Kurdish region exported under its own auspices and their loss deals a huge blow to its already parlous finances and its dreams of economic self-sufficiency.

This article leaves a lot out. But it reveals this was a largely bloodless takeover. (there were deaths on both sides)

No where in the article does it say, this was done by the Iranian PMF. It was. Who are they?

Pro-Khamenei Iraqi PMF Militia Threatens United States

https://raddingtonreport.com/pro-khamenei-iraqi-pmf-militia-threatens-united-states/

The PMF "says" they have authority to do whatever they want, even in defiance of the Baghdad goverment (Shia's now control it).

They only act in the interest of Iran. They seek to humiliate both the US and the Kurds. They have made inroads toward expansion in Iraq and Syria. They only understand one thing? Force.

The division among Kurds shows here. The division between the Barzani and Talabani families.

The reality of this is not clear yet. But Iran tried to bait the US into an open war with them. That could come. It is to be seen.

I beg to differ. This was total deception on the part of the Iraqi army along with the help of the Gulf Cooperative Council forces.

Iran, along with Putin and Assad, is losing influence in the region by the day. The mullahs days are numbered.

ISIS surrendered Raqqa this morning. They have been exterminated in Syria and Iraq.

It took 4 months.

We will see middle east peace in our lifetimes.

We need an offense against the Iranian regime - they have had one against us since 1979.

Didn’t 1500 Isis fighters route 60,000 Iraqis during the 2014 Battle of Mosul.

Well, 1979 was a bunch of liberalo-antifa types at the time who then got crushed by the islamists. THere is a bit of a difference and people confuse the two.

I just say that because liberal rags like to point that the US was supporting the Shah after overthrowing their Republic back in the 50s, and that this was a legit student revolt. But they forget to mention the liberal Iranian students got crushed and jailed, and when the Iraq war turned up, they were called traitors and executed.

We need to remind the world we would not be opposing those students though liberal rags tend to think that crushing the mullahs is crushing the Iranian revolution, which it is not necessarily, but standing by it in fact.

To this day liberal Americans do not realize that the muslims in government benefitting from their political correctness will be called in Leninist terms the true revolutionaries while the current crop of democrat mencheviks would be crushed.

My question too. THese Iraqis ran away like rats at ISIS coming but then arrogantly claim Kurdish territories?

Seems like these incompetent fools were cooperating with ISIS at first to me.
