Sounds like the flight crew did exactly the right thing.

Lost cabin pressure and immediately descended at max rate to 10000’.

Not pleasant. But it’s what you have to do...

You are spot on. Would have been nice if the someone in the cockpit could have let the passengers and crew know that it was an intentional steep, descent but armchair qb’ing a situation like that isn’t reasonable in a situation like that.

The pilots did exactly what they should have done from what I’ve read.

Why didn’t the Captain come on and tell us?

He was too busy saving your butts? Nice work Crew!

Exactly what I would expect too. Why aren’t flight attendants briefed on this so they can remain calm? Just a dive right? Not a wing over to a knife edge decent... Ok, admittedly I’m not your average passenger - I’m getting some “spare time” flight lessons (in exchange for mechanic work). That stick time is in a fully acrobatic two seater, but I’ve only pulled 3 gs so far and done basic maneuvers. I think it would be a blast to see what the big jets are capable of. I’d be the fool with his hands in the air yelling “let’s do it again!” Into his oxygen mask.
