Bowe Bergdahl pleads guilty to desertion

Bowe Bergdahl, the US soldier held as a Taliban captive in Afghanistan for five years, has pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehaviour before the enemy. The 31-year-old Army sergeant entered his plea on Monday before a military judge at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Idaho native's lawyers have argued he cannot get a fair trial following criticism from Donald Trump during last year's presidential campaign. Mr Trump had called him "a no-good traitor who should have been executed."

He was raised by two commie pinko sheep shagging commune living subversives. Even a blind man could have seen their spawn turning out so screwed up.

The perspective through the skewed and highly distorting lens that the Former Occupant of the Oval Orifice, 2009-2017 has always used to look upon the world - inverted and in mirror image, with many different angles of focus.

Bowe Bergdahl is getting off EASY, by any standards.

He is lucky his head was not found atop a stake somewhere in the Afghan desert.

".the Army should have asked questions and refused to accept the guy. They were just begging for trouble by accepting him."

The military services have unfortunately relaxed their standards overall because of the obesity problems among the youth. Probably 20 - 25 years ago, he would not have been allowed in because we had a much larger pool of youth to choose from. Now so many of our kids are fat and can't do the basic physical exercise to get in, the pool of available kids is shrinking. It's a sad truth of the situation.

IMO, it is ultimately the blame of all of us who are parents of this generation of kids. Too many of them are sitting around on X-boxes and facebook and not out doing what I did as a kid, riding my bike, playing games outside etc... That and the fast food expolosion. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's we hardly ever went to eat at fast food places. We might get McDonalds once a month as a treat. These kids are there and other fast food joints all the time.

The Army didn't seem to have a problem with Ft. Hood's Maj. Nidal Hassan even after all the complaints against him. Nor did they have a problem with Sgt. Asan Akbar who threw grenades into his men's tents. All this "don't ask don't tell" flows into all aspects of their ability to serve. The military, Congress, immigration service and all the way down to school boards need to all start vetting better.

And yet they have to get a dermatologist to look at a patch of eczema on my stepson’s shin before they pass his medical. This has delayed his enlistment by 2 months into the Marines.

This traitor is no Captain Andre, and shooting was requested but not allowed Andre, so why should it to Bergdahl?

Hang him!

Hanging would be perfect. It’s a disgraceful way to be executed. Many German generals requested to be shot after the war because of the stigma attached to hanging!

"...Mr Trump had called him "a no-good traitor who should have been executed..."

Most Americans who pay attention to this kind of thing and aren't far leftists feel much the same. Which is why we like Trump. He thinks like us in these matters, and isn't afraid to say so.

We tend to like people not crippled by PC.

You bet it does. When we start taking traitors/treason seriously then maybe we’ll see desired results in lessening it!
