Wesley and Joesley Batista, the brothers who formerly served as CEO and chairman of JBS, respectively, have been formally charged with insider trading and market manipulation.
Both had admitted to involvement in a scandal in which they admitted to bribing Brazilian politicians. Both have also been incarcerated for about a month.
Federal police three weeks ago formally accused the brothers of insider trading and asked federal prosecutors to file charges against them, which prosecutors did on October 10.

From Feedstuffs magazine another tidbit...
The Federal Prosecutor's Office in São Paulo, Brazil, has officially charged brothers and business owners Joesley and Wesley Batista -- controllers of J&F Investimentos S.A. (J&F), which owns JBS S.A. -- for insider trader trading that occurred prior to them signing a plea deal in May.
Makes you wonder about beef pricing and marketing....
Uh ... does this mean Wesley and Joesley Batista are members of the John Birch Society???
Check your local purveyor of beef.... international business.
They’ll probably be sent to the same prison Martha Stewart went to. Hope they can cook or they’ll get real bored.

Remember this family controls the beef that is available for consumption in Brazil and the USA.
And thanks to the repeal of country of origin labeling, good luck telling what beef came from where.
The arrest is in Brazil and is on a real precipice.
Under Brazilian law, a president can only be tried for a crime before the Supreme Court, and only if two-thirds of the lower house of Congress votes to allow the court to take up the case. And the case against Temer was based upon Batista information. The insider trading took place before the brothers signed a plea bargain deal with federal prosecutors, police said, in which they admitted to paying bribes to over 1,800 politicians in recent years to advance their own business interests. There is going to be a huge amount of changes to this fable. Too much deal making material. Temer is the big fish. The Batistas are the minnows. They could be called collateral damage and tossed back into the sea. And they hold information that can “slime” a whole troop of monkeys all over. This kind of stuff happens all the time in third world countries.
Or they could die of an accidental shooting in jail, too. (Like to the back of the head) Depends on who they would have stepped on. Sound familiar? Like maybe the Clintons’ work?
