When deputies arrived at the apartment, Waddell opened the door with blood splattered on his feet and his hands.

This prosecution has legs, no need to offer a plea. Death penalty.

This prosecution has legs

If I read the article correctly the prosecution actually has legs, back and head.

This is in the Florida county where the prosecutor (i.e., State’s Attorney) said she absolutely will not ask for the death penalty. Governor Rick Scott started taking cases away from her; when it got to stinking really bad the Florida Supreme Court told the Governor that he is right. Now there is some “panel” that is advising this paragon of Soros on which cases are worthy of death penalty consideration.
Oh, forgot something - my reference to Soros - she got close to a million dollars from Soros organization/s for her campaign. She was up against an incumbent who had about average success with some high-profile cases. Basically, her campaign coffers were like 10 times the size of her opponent’s.
