If they knew the floor from the git-go, why not put a sniper on the matching tower to try a kill shot?

The shooter offed himself in about 13 minutes. The SWAT breached the door after 72 minutes.
The cops get a break on this. The shooter was positioned to have a clear shot at the cops. They would have been killed before they ever got near the room.
I find it odd that security didn’t call the police the second they found out a guard had been shot.
Mandalay Bay is being protected by the city. Paddock brought over 20 guns up to his room and the “do not disturb” sign was up for a few days.
Lots of bad/confusing info out there - he was actively shooting for about 10 to 12 minutes.
First 911 call was about 60-90 seconds after the shooting into the crowd started. Police were already talking about it over their coms.
The arms deal aspect is just foolish speculation. I live in Nevada and the LAST place anyone would do a 20 plus gun deal is a high rise hotel. Not to mention 20 + guns is a very small amount in the illegal arms world.
