Just heard on the news the girl scouts aren’t happy about this.
Heh. As I told WBill Jr, the only thing better than him earning his Polar Bear Patch, was me NOT earning it. :-)

Liberals only destroy organizations, don’t create them.
They’ve had strong control of the Girl Scouts for years. Campfire is open. But no, they have to take down the Boy Scouts, too.

It is the freaking BOY Scouts! It isn’t like there isn’t a GIRL Scouts - there is, and has been for many decades.
What is so hard about this:
1) You have a wee-wee, its Boy Scouts for you.
2) You don’t have a wee-wee, its Girl Scouts for you.
3) You don’t like your present situation between your legs, and honestly plan to change that, then it is the Transformer Scouts for you...though I’d suggest a psychiatrist first.
No muss, no fuss - for anyone logical.
And decrease the little focus on boys even more...
The BSA is dead. As an old Eagle Scout, I hate to say it, but it is true.
You know, I have read every reply on these threads and I have come to realize many freepers are not aware of all the aspects of the scouting program. I am a father of two children, one boy 19 Eagle scout, and a girl 13 working towards Gold. My daughter has been a part of the boy scout program since before she could crawl. The boy scout program she has been watching has made her a better person and more self sufficient than anything the girl scouts could even think of offering. The boys in my troop are growing and learning to be good strong men. When they mature, they will be looking for good strong women. That is not how girls are being raised now.
The decisions being made at the national level are being done for political and / or adding more youth to pay into the program, but at the local level we are running our program the way it was meant to be run.
The program is run like this in other countries and it works well. society may be crumbling around us, but we are still providing a good solid program for the few that are willing to suck it up and do the hard work. Our country will need future leaders, both men and women. I guarantee you that some of those will have already cut their teeth in the BSA program. If your Troop / Pack is not run that way, then you can move to one that is. And rather than busting our chops, consider helping out the good units rather than tossing out the baby with the bath water.
Why? Did Girl Scouts disappear?
They’re simply merging the two because the numbers standing alone are not sufficient.
