“After you read them you’ll fall on your knees in gratitude that slavery in this world was essentially stopped by one man.”
First, I didn’t realize that slavery in the world has stopped.
Second, I knew that before the War Between the States, many if not most countries had, indeed, ended slavery. Peacefully.
Which leads to a direct question: Do you think Lincoln fought the war to end slavery?
It's stopped as an open State Approved Institution...YOU MUST KNOW THAT. That's the definition.
Not one Nation in the world that allows slavery today.
Of course it still exists...on an individual level of evil, but that's not what we're talking about. The evil known as slavery is NOT an officially approved social custom in any country in the world today.
That's what Lincoln changed. Before Lincoln slavery existed as a legal option in many countries around the world - including here in the United States. His ideas ended that...
NOW ALL nations have laws against slavery.
Even in a places as backward as Africa and the Middle-East there are laws against slavery. In short - SLAVERY AS AN INSTITUTION HAS BEEN STOPPED.
