Wend or Sorb. Sorbs/Wends have lived in what is now Germany for 1500 years. The Holy Roman Empire tried to subjugated the Sorbs, other Slavic groups, and Prussians with the
the Northern March/Nordmark. This failed in the 10th century but was sucessful in the 13 century as the March of Brandenburg, which later integrated Ducal Prussia in the 16th century, and would eventually unify Germany. A lot of Prussian are descended from Slavic and Baltic peoples, who were Germanicized over the last thousand years. In so far as the Nazis murdered the remaining Sorbian/Wend/Lusatian leadership in an act of attempted cultural Genocide, I find Kubitschek's history interesting.
