RIP, Y.A. Back when the NFL was great. My dear old Dad was a YYYUUUGE Giants fan. When he passed we actually took some solace knowing you can see Met Life Stadium from his gravesite. True he was 90 and lead a looong rewarding life, but I can't help but wonder if Mr. Tittle's passing is a harbinger of the fate of the NFL?

YA Tittle is followed by Mr. Get on all Fours like a dog who was carried off the field crying yesterday.

Never saw him play but heard stories from my elders (who were all avid Giants’ fans). Those really were the days.

Rest in Peace, Y.A. You were loved.

In earlier years, one exciting game was burned into memory
Due to the fact the sports announcer repeatedly stated:

It’s Tittle at the throttle! There, HE THROWS. Tittle at the Throttle repeated again and again.

A player before PC turned the other players into fairies.

(NY Giants) Hall of Famer Y.A. Tittle dies at 90

No truth to the rumor that he died of embarrassment......

Hated the Giants, but loved watching him play. Surprised he was still alive, but a helluva tough guy.

I remember being in the living room watching the NY Giants on a black and white TV on Sunday afternoon in the early 1960’s. I was young and my attention span was short but I definitely remember Y.A. Tittle and the Giants.

I also remember Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry and Lenny Moore of the Baltimore Colts.

I also remember seeing the Green Bay Packers on TV.

I also had an electric football set in the 1960’s. I got it for Christmas one year. You lined up the little plastic players, turned on the switch and the field buzzed and the players went around in different directions.

There goes a bit more of my past. When we played pick-up football in the neighborhood lot, when we kids began shouting, “I’m “Bart Starr””, I’m “Paul Hornung””,........invariably, “Y.A. Tittle’s” name was one of the first selected by one of us.
