It’s not surprising that Foster Friess can raise some hackles. He’s very rich, very conservative and very Christian — and he very much likes to share his views. Senators are supposed to represent the interests of a state. That was weakened by direct voting for senators, but still they were at least supposed to be representing the state in theory.

Anyone thing this guy, or Prince, or any other carpetbagger will walk in the door deeply committed to that state? No, they will see the state as an admission doorway to the Senate where they can concentrate on their own national goals.

If he was the real deal, he would be fighting for his home state of Wisconsin and working to replace the democrat Senator there. Moving somewhere he has never lived, or maybe even been, to be the new Senator shows he doesn’t have the slightest idea of what the Senate was meant to be.
