Los Angeles just deleted Columbus Day in favor of "indigenous people's day"

Question to Los Angeles — If you want to have an “indigenous people’s day”, go ahead and have it. But why do it by deleting an existing day honoring Columbus?

WHY CAN’T WE HAVE BOTH?

When I was a kid, my folks had the coffee table book including this painting, and I thought it was the coolest thing, in a gory kind of way, for a 7 year old. I would look at this book endlessly.
