It started as a scrappy grass-roots protest movement against President Trump, but now the so-called resistance is attracting six- and seven-figure checks from major liberal donors, posing an insurgent challenge to some of the lefts most venerable institutions and the Democratic Party itself.
The jockeying between groups, donors and operatives for cash and turf is occurring mostly behind the scenes. But it has grown acrimonious at times, with upstarts complaining they are being boxed out by a liberal establishment that they say enables the sort of Democratic timidity that paved the way for the Trump presidency.
[snip]And an advocacy group funded by the billionaire hedge fund manager George Soros, a founding member of the Democracy Alliance and one of the (most influential donors on the left), is considering a donation in the low six figures to Indivisible. Mr. Soros has already donated to a host of nonprofit groups playing key roles in the anti-Trump movement, including the Center for Community Change, Color of Change and Local Progress.

So endorsed violence and Soros big checks are defined as, “scrappy”
It’s NYT thus fiction. BLM and antifa maniacs are not attracting contributions, My US Senator Tammy Baldwin(D-WI) is desperate. Below is one of her pitiful fund raising appeals
Grassroots organizing and donations are at the heart of this campaign. Theyre what got Tammy elected the first time, and theyre what were counting on right now.
Because with only hours to go, were still short of our $50,000 FEC goal.
If we dont pick up the pace, the corporate special interests, Mitch McConnell, the Koch brothers and everyone else who wants to take us down are going to LOVE our FEC report when it goes public. Theyll know we fell short.
Lets not give the same people who want to take away our health care and who are currently trying to pass tax breaks for the mega-wealthy the satisfaction they want.
Donate $5 or whatever you can afford to help reelect Tammy and ruin the Koch brothers day.
Thanks,
Team Baldwin
So “the Resistance” is acting on behalf of - who?
Just another reboot of “Occupy Wall Street” or any of the other “Occupy” activities. They are out there spending a LOT of money in devious ways, not all of which are in the name of legal pursuits.
This vermin is turning on what they believe to be “Establishment” Democrats and are repeating the mistakes they (or their parents) made in 1968.
That worked so well back then.
I know Liberals aren’t very happy with the Dems either. Who are they trying to primary? Are they going after North Dakota and Manchin for example?
totally schizophrenic article: simultaneously claims “resistance groups” collecting BIG bucks, but then says “upstart resistance” groups are whining about being “boxed out” of the big donations the article claims are happening from multiple big-money sources, and then goes on to name ONE source (Soros) and point out that he’s “considering” a six-figure donation.
fake news ...
So they believe in going nasty for losing elections? Getting nasty to Democrats for losing? Sounds like they aren’t really good learners.
Now we know where that $640,000,000 Obola extorted from the banksters is going.
I didn’t read the full article. Did the NYT forget to mention how much the Resistance hates Hillary and Obama?
I got this from Jack Pine Radicals. The article was a very well received brutal dissection of Hillary’s excuses for losing. [Jack Pine Radicals supported Bernie Sanders.]
‘Barack Obama I actually agree with this, but not due to her reasons. Jackass sodomized the Democratic Party for his own purposes, wiping them out in every level of the government.’
‘Democratic Party For being bankrupt. LOL, see, this is where I blame Obama in. He wiped out the DNC’
Exactly
This is called LOSING
Do they even have copy editors? They misspelled ‘crappy’ in the first sentence.
2. ?
3. Trump is gone!
“1. Collect underpants big donor checks.
2. ?
3. Trump is gone!”
sounds about right ... if one is a leftist fool who lives in the leftist echo chamber.
