same here, since this is a Navy base area and has lots of Retired Navy, you see a lot of Patriotic Tats when they are not in uniform, or they get more when they retire.
My Tat is about 4 inches long, graceful delicate Cross, most of the time T shirts hide it, until tank tops come out in the summer. You have to watch where you put them, as aging makes them look bad other wise. LOL
It’s been around thousands of years, just goes through fads, same as piercings. Once upon a time wealthy/Royal men wore fancy duds, make up, wigs, earrings, where women didn’t. We’d think they were Weirdos today.
The stupidity and arrogance of this person is breathtaking, but...to be expected.
Many professional athletes of all kinds who make that kind of money (though not all) seem to think their sport (whatever it is) is more than an entertainment service (with the emphasis on the word “service”) and as such, is on par with national defense and water treatment facilities.
Most people who have to provide a “service” for a living understand that alienating and insulting your “customer’ (as this tool did) is a one way ticket to unemployment and the breadline.
Are you even capable of making a coherent argument without getting hysterical and resorting to personal insults?
Absolutely. And I'm calling out the ignorance that exists in some of the folks commenting on this thread. This is FR. I thought we were better than nonsense BS stereotyping based on false assumptions.
If you really don’t believe that tattoos are concentrated among the lower levels of our society in education and intellect I think you just aren’t paying attention.
That’s what the data show and that’s what Freepers here have observed personally. That doesn’t mean that someone with tattoos can’t be smart and good for a job. Indeed that’s what the research reported here is saying—if you control for the educational and intellectual factors, their research shows that tattoos are not an additional factor in how well folks do.
If a “stereotype” is accurate, conservatives shouldn’t be against acknowledging reality.
I can’t imagine a strong man wearing ballet tights, ruffled shirts, and a full braided white wig today.
Call me prudish, but I do not want a tattooed person serving my food.
If they made one bad decision, what other bad decisions did they make in life?
Hepatitis? Needle drugs?
In my mind a naked lady with tattoos has way less value than a naked lady without tattoos.
Tats on a naked lady say “Want AIDS with that?”
When everyone is doing it, it is not rebellion. Its conformity.
Thus I see a demographic of people desperate to fit in and be accepted/liked by their peers.
I guess you can’t.
The stereotype is NOT accurate, in this case. Anyone believing this BS is just down right ignorant.
