Trump supporters eager to ‘drain the swamp’ help fill Republican Party coffers

Fueled by a string of fundraising appeals from President Trump to his supporters, the Republican Party is on track to raise more money from small-dollar contributions than it has collected in more than a decade.

The influx of cash from Trump’s base is helping the GOP amass a major advantage as the parties prepare to battle for control of Congress in the 2018 elections, with the Republican National Committee pulling in nearly twice as much money overall as its Democratic counterpart this year.

The RNC’s success with small donors illustrates how the Republican Party, long a center of the political establishment, has managed to turn Trump’s anti-Washington message to its advantage.

And it shows how Trump’s base, angered by the sense that the president is being treated unfairly, is helping to redefine a party that has long cultivated rich contributors.

If you're giving money to the party, especially before the 2018 primaries, you are helping to fill the swamp not drain it.

You do know that the current leadership of the RNC was appointed by Trump, right?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of which will be directed towards swamp creatures to defeat the challengers who are trying to drain the swamp.
Cantorizing the weasels is what is needed, not helping incumbents.
They (RNC) called today for the first time in quite a while.
Told them I don’t take recorded calls and to take me off their call list.
Haven’t had any use for the RNC since 1998.
I’m calling BS on this one. Every Trump supporter I know loathes the GOP, and knows they are the obstructionists.
Ok. Mental whiplash. I keep seeing person after person writing here and elsewhere that they are shutting off fund raising requests. And yet I’m seeing in this article fund raising is at an all time high. Are mouths and keyboards not reflecting actual actions?
“If you’re giving money to the party, especially before the 2018 primaries, you are helping to fill the swamp not drain it.”
That is why I do not give the RNC as an example. I give money straight to the candidate. Roy Moore is a prime example.
I get a lot of emails from “Team Trump” and “Trump Headquarters” begging for donations. They hide the fact in fine print at the bottom that says it from the RNC. I really don’t want Paul Ryan running on my money.
And those stoopid survey questions...
I sent mine back with the comment
You idiots blew $9,000,000 supporting that looser Strange against Judge Moore
I sent my dollars direct to Judge Moore.
“Haven’t had any use for the RNC since 1998.”
Just received an unwelcome dunning letter from Kevin McCarthy for the RNC. It Included a poll that my Golden Doodle could have filled out. Sent it back with a very mean-spirited note telling them to take me off their list permanently.
I donate as directly to Trump and other candidates as I can. The RNC seems to be on a much better track than it had been for years - may actually start dropping a few bucks on them.
They (all of the elites, including the GOPe) think we’re children and stupid at that. I remember these mindless polls from probably back in the ‘80s.
All of the swamp are using a very old playbook.
As someone once said, the times they are a-changin.
Yeah, just like the leadership of the Justice Department was appointed by Trump.
It is a swamp-run structure until much, much, much more draining occurs.
Exactly.
The RNC are deceptive slime.
The bigger storyline here however is the DNC’s difficulty in raising money.
Yeah, Judge Moore is a great example for not sending money to the RNC. They should be sued for deceptive practice for those emails, imo.
