Bharara, Yates tamp down expectations Mueller will bring criminal charges

Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Wednesday that it will be difficult for special counsel Robert Mueller to prove criminal conduct in his probe into possible coordination between the President Trump's campaign and Russia.

“I know a lot of people are sort of putting all their hopes into Bob Mueller. And I’ve got tremendous confidence in Bob Mueller,” Yates said in a joint interview with Bharara at Vanity Fair's New Establishment Summit in New York, according to The Wall Street Journal.

“But the fact of the matter is, he’s going to determine whether there’s proof beyond a reasonable doubt that felonies were committed, that crimes were committed that can be used for prosecution or impeachment," she added.

Bharara emphasized that Mueller's investigation is intended to "find out the truth and apply the law and facts fairly" and said that he could ultimately decide against bringing a case.

What about criminal charges against the Clinton Crime Family & Comey? (Sometimes I just like to humor myself)

Quick! Somebody please grab that dolt Senator Burr and clue him in. But that might be impossible with his condition of cranial rectumitus. His cranium and Warner’s RINO head socket.

Unlike politicians, private businessmen cannot lie, cheat, and/or steal and expect to remain in business for very long.

...and if true, Mueller did Trump a favor, although it certainty didn’t seem like it at the time, by not doing a straw-dog investigation that the media could pick on or conspiratorialize, and actually extensively investigated.

Either way, I don’t see it changing the Presidency much. If the was a real and a very serious “there” there, we would know by now. Anything that comes out of it at all will be peripheral and superficial to the big picture.

This investigation generated a zillion speculative media stories so what is not to like. :-(

Can’t they find a dog from the Trump family to indict for peeing on a fire hydrant? :-)

Oh yeah and Mueller ALSO must prove INTENT!

COMEY has already established there must be intent in order for there too be a successful prosecution......right?

Yates and Bharara, a couple of less savory swamp creatures. In swamps the size of DC’s and NY’s. It takes some effort to be standouts. Preet and Sally made the grade.

The next move Trump needs to make is an EO requiring the government to reimburse innocent people forced to spend multi-millions to defend themselves. Mueller had a blank checkbook, funded bytaxpayers, and unlimited scope. That kind of out-of-control prosecutorial excess should not be allowed to ruin innocent people and their families.

I’ve been saying for months there is an ongoing investigation of several libs-—doubt it’s Cankles, but likely Rice, Lynch, Comey, etc. It’s been very well sealed, as it should be.

You should never, ever hear of this until the trap is sprung.

I believe this article is the first indication of this. Libs suddenly realizing there will be no prosecution of any Trump ppl. Trump dismissed all his criminal lawyers some time ago.

I have yet to see MANAFORT confirm his house was “raided.” That’s very strange. You’d think he’d be the first to scream, yet not a peep-—that I can find. Why? Perhaps because there was no raid, but rather a news release about a raid to keep up pretenses that Mulehead is “really into” a Trump investigation.

The model for all of this is the Robert Hassan (Hassen?) investigation a few years ago. FBI/DOJ in total secrecy nailed this guy. But this investigation is much bigger and far reaching and will involve far more people, all done in the DOJ with far, far fewer trusted resources.

Sessions cannot rely on many people there. I’m guessing the total team is fewer than 50.

The reason for all the so-called lib lawyers in Mulehead’s team is further deflection, and when the indictments come, will further insulate Sessions/Trump from some (certainly not all) claims of “partisanship” in going after these evil people. This investigation’s size, scope, and need for secrecy is such that this will take a very long time. Anyway, you heard it here first.

Well, let’s look at this.

The democrats are saying there’s a Russian conspiracy and that Trump and his team were in bed with the Russians.

Ok, special counsel is formed. At first Trump is upset, not so much of the counsel but that Sessions recused himself, but maybe that too, was put on for the media.

But LET’S MOVE ON.

Mueller, instead of bringing in republicans, and conservatives, and ANY pro Trump guys, he brings in junk yard dog liberal, Clinton loving attorneys.

Sessions has no influence.

AND THEN IN THE END THEY FIND NOTHING?!!!!!!!NADA!

Looks to me that this is another example of Trump playing 3D chess. He knew all along that they’d find nothing to stick on him.

His poll numbers go up, and the press now is lost without a major expectation.

Ahhh, the walk back begins.

Someone should tell the idiots on social media. I've seen a lot recently, where people are thinking that Mueller is going to drop the bomb any day now, and will set the stage for impeaching the President.

If there was anything remotely resembling a "high crime," this fishing expedition would be over.

Bharara emphasized that Mueller's investigation is intended to "find out the truth and apply the law and facts fairly"

That kind of talk ain't gonna make him any friends in the Vanity Fair readership.

Aside from the distractions and damage to the Trump agenda, the intent of this “investigation” was to try to find any evidence to justify the fraudulent claims high level Obama Administration officials, including James Comey, used to mislead FISA court Judges to allow the use of national strategic intelligence spying on political opposition leaders

Rumors are that FISA Judges involved are not amused at being lied to.

All of Mueller's investigators took out private insurance to protect them against criminal and civil litigation against them for proescutorial malfeasance and abuses of power.

Looks like they may be needing to file some claims in the near future.

Still searching for a crime in the Trump campaign while real crime is staring them in the face....Hillary...Comey...the IRS...Rhodes, Debbie Wasserman Scultz for starters....Wasserman Schultz and Clinton are truly criminals.

Muller is a fraud who is wasting taxpayer $$$$$ unnecessarily to appease the GOP elites, yes they are still there and the Progressive elites who are being exposed for their corrupt fiefdoms in this government.
