I recently read a story about a new Israeli tank. It has three screens at the front of the inside of the turret that are hooked to exterior cameras.
I would like to see our tankers have helmets like the Air Force pilots have that provide them with a 360 degree view.
When the crewman looks to the rear, he is hooked up to a camera on the rear of the tank.
You can then hook up computers that scan for targets and notify the crew.
In the Yom Kippur War, the Israelis lost a lot of good Officers because they were taught to fight standing up out of the Commander’s hatch. They felt it was worth the risk for their Officers to see what was going on outside the tank.
A system like the Air Force helmets would greatly increase the lethality and survivability of American tank crews.
Israel is now reputedly 2nd to Silicon Valley.
Start Up Nation is a good explanation.
Netanyahu pulled a Reagan—he realized Israel needed a vibrant economy in order to finance its military.
