That's kind of a little bit on the verge of being accurate. There's really no use for "race" other than to divide people into categories where some are legally privileged over others.

All ancient societies broke people down into groupings. Egypt, Rome, ect clearly classified people. Heck the first thing the native americans did was classify Europeans as “the white man”
