NFL: Bribing them to stand for the National Anthem
American Thinker ^ | October 3, 2017 | Monica Showalter

So we're seeing lots of nice standing at attention for the National Anthem by National Football League players lately, all full of respect.  Isn't that special?

Turns out at least some of them have been bribed to get those pretty television pictures of respect for the U.S. flag.

Some NFL players will only stand for the anthem if owners give money to their special causes like Black Lives Matter. Some NFL players will not stand for the anthem no matter what.

From the article:

"In exchange for finding a different way to protest racial injustices around the country, Ford said she would be willing to donate both money and her name to community issues at the heart of the players' cause."

Heh.

I give an NFL player the same respect I give to a dog t*rd on the sidewalk.

Nice try.

It would do my heart good to see 50 to 75% of the NFL’s base bolt.

Lacking that, I doubt we’ll see much movement.

It’s a shame.

It will take years for the league to build back up it’s base.

The owners of the team get money from the government to put on a patriotic show. They no doubt made their deal without consulting the players about whether or not they wanted to participate. I’ve always thought this was more about players’ anger toward the owners about not getting a piece of the pie.

As if their millions weren’t enough.

Shut down the NFL.

Cut them off.

Even if they are bankrupt I don’t think they are smart enough to know where their money comes from. The very people they hate.

Author only mentions in passing the players themselves did not offer to do anything or pay anything to help black causes. They fell back on time-honored formula. Get more white money thrown at putative black causes. Obama perfected this by fining big banks and have them pay the fines to lefty black social justice groups. Of course the problems are disintegration of the black family , disdain for education and casual acceptance or crime and violence.

White liberals are at the root of all of this. They started welfare as we know it, they fund the “community leaders” and “activists” (e.g., Obama, Jackson and Sharpton) who preach it’s all racism and whitey’s fault. They will not talk about disintegration of the black family, the disdain for education or the ongoing violence in Chicago. Bill Cosby railed about such things, and among all the powerful sleazes in Hollywood, he alone was targeted to be destroyed.

instead of bribing them to stand for Anthem they should just fire them for protesting on work time. Once they show up and suit up they are on the clock.

Wow, first linking arms while trying to look noble and now bribery. Just when you think the NFL can’t sink any lower, they do. Stick a fork in them, they are done.

No matter. This former pro football fanatic will never watch another game, never buy any merchandise related to the game, no matter what they do from here on out.

Fans put up with the drugs, the domestic violence, the arrests, etc, but this is the final nail in the coffin.

I don't care what they do, or, don't do, ever again.

Makes sense seeing as the Feds have to bribe the NFL into having those military honors at the games.

An interesting figure would be how much these kneelers own money they put to organizations and communities to try to resolve the problem they say they are protesting. My guess is very little — all talk and no action — other than kneeling.
