Trump: Talking to Kim Jong Un a waste, 'will do what needs to be done'

President Trump on Sunday sounded a war drum over North Korean leader Kim Jong Un refusing to abandon his nuclear weapons program, telling Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to stop wasting time negotiating with Kim because the U.S. “will do what needs to be done.”

“I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man,” tweeted Trump, using his mocking nickname for Kim. “Save your energy Rex, we'll do what has to be done!"

Several hours later, Trump sent another tweet that said that being nice to Kim hadn’t worked for Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama. Kim is 33 and came to power only six years ago after his father, Kim Jong Il, died in December 2011.

"Being nice to Rocket Man hasn't worked in 25 years, why would it work now? Clinton failed, Bush failed, and Obama failed. I won't fail,” Trump wrote.

T-Rex and The Donald - Good Cop and Bad Cop.

This baffles the North Koreans, for they had come to believe that all US Presidents were the same, and they would roll over once again obediently, as they have since 1993. The Hermit Kingdom merely has to make a few glib promises, then the “protection money” would come rolling in, while they used the new funding for their next campaign to frighten the dove cote. Their playbook no longer works.

Classic good cop, bad cop technique.

The art of the deal in action.

Now Rocketman wants to prove something. Draws him out of his hermit kingdom.

“We'll do what has to be done” could mean a lot of things, some of which are already underway. There are still a lot of opportunities to solve the rocket man’s belligerent ways up to and including his permanent and final removal (perhaps the only way to shut him down).

They also lack the ability to conceive of a country having more than one voice. In their minds, a variety of opinions on a topic equals weakness, so to have Tillerson say one thing while Trump says another both baffles and disgusts them.

A snarky article by Fox. They intimate that Trump isn’t aware that Kim wasn’t the leader when Clinton and Bush were presidents. They have become the Never-Trump mouthpiece on the right.

I still think that probably the best way of putting the “Fear of Donald” into the dummy would be to instruct the USN to do something that hasn’t been done in a long time.

With lots of prior preparation, to “as discreetly as possible” sink the entire North Korean submarine and surface fleets.

By “discreetly”, I mean the first sound that sensitive sonars from around the world would hear would be a bunch of submarines reaching crush depth and imploding. A very unique sound. And startling, especially if not preceded by an explosion.

At the same time there should be the sound of a LOT of torpedoes in the water.

Remember during the cold war how Reagan would have multiple Russian boomer subs suddenly being pinged simultaneously all over the world!

The top brass at the Kremlin was crapping their pants as this sent the big message "all your subs belongs to us and we can destroy them All in a heartbeat!"

That would work with the Russians because they were both smart and obeyed orders. I imagine the NorK submariners are pretty much programmed to be expendable suicide forces. So playing mind games with them is a waste, like with Japanese suicide pilots in WWII.

The concept of the operation is that, by stripping them of their offshore coastal defenses, they are pretty much laid bare to attack from either coast. Something that even fat boy would notice. It also lets the Chinese and Russians know that they had better ask first, before venturing into those waters.
