Its ironic how quickly the Spanish government and elites brought out military/police to try and prevent this. It shows how quickly they act when they believe their interests are threatened.
Meanwhile, millions of immigrants continue to invade Europe, and now one can find any will to mobilize police or the military for that....

I admit I do not know a lot about the current Catalan situation and their political persuasions.
But back in the 1980s I knew one of them, who was pushing the Catalan position gung-ho and this guy was an out and out commie.
Then the guy starts sharing some propaganda and it was mixing anti-US stuff with Catalan revolution and everything he showed me was a bunch of communists behind this.
Maybe things have changed since then. But my gut is, there are probably a bunch of communist lefties behind this Catalan independence gig and if they get their way they will still support the EU but also start their own nuclear missile program and point the nukes at UK etc...
I could be wrong.
