Do these idiots think that they can have it both ways,

That's exactly what they think. They think if they "follow the letter of the law" (stand for the anthem), it cancels out defying the "spirit of the law" (kneeling). And worse, they'll "fool us" by doing it. Jackasses. Hope the whole organization crashes and burns.

The Steelers all stood respectfully with many singing the anthem. No locked arms, no kneeling. One team has it right.

The Steelers don’t “have it right”. They got their asses handed to them by their fans and are in full blown panic and damage control mode. Nothing more. Nothing less. Don’t let these bastards put the toothpaste back into the tube.

No Steeler has kneeled ever. The team was misled by the Obama loving head coach the week before and regretted that situation. Lets give credit where credit is due. Would you rather have them kneeling.

Don’t those fans at the stadium realize that as long as they go to the games and hand over their $$$, the booing is not going to mean much of anything to the team?

BS. They went along with it, including the fact it VIOLATES NFL RULES.

They were hiding. Thinking they can bluff people into thinking no one would kneel. Apparently, they can.

I think it’s good for them. They’ve already spent the money. What options are there?

The only “good” option to keep seats empty is to toss the tickets (burn them, so no one else can get them).

Well, there goes your money. Next option, use them, and boo; bring mean-spirited signs. Maybe toss some cans on the field. Face away when they pull their “whoa-is-me-blacks-oppressed” garbage. Show them some reaction, some disapproval.

And then avoid buying tickets from now on.

Be funny when tickets to NFL games can be had for $10 on StubHub,

If upper-middle-class season-ticket holders have to share a stadium with yahoos, then that will be the last season they buy tickets.

Hire a message plane to fly over the stadium with a brutal message like:

“Trump Rules NFL stools”

“I hope to do my job as my heroes have done theirs.”

It’s a very good caption. I suspect the Las Vegas attack will reinforce the seriousness of the NFL protests.

It’s long past time to respect law enforcement and military for what they do.

This as been a really crappy, crappy, hell of a day. So much evil has been seen, there is no hiding it. Tom Petty (and the Heartbreakers) died last night, cardiac arrest. Age:67.

Life just became that much more crappy if after reaching the ripe old age and working your tail off, this is the life in which we find ourselves. No glory there.

My horrific mood just became much worse. I would plan to immerse myself in alcohol but I don’t have enough to fill the tub.

True, it’s been a very depressing day. We’ll get through this though. Lawnmower Boy is the future, and so maybe we’ll have a resurgence of Americanism in Generation Z.

I don’t drink a very much alcohol at all these days — not that I ever drunk a lot. Except for the time I was on my first midshipman cruise and the sailors got me so drunk, I wonder how I managed to make it back to the ship.

That night I slept in another guy’s rack and pissed in it. Embarassing? Yes. But the good thing is everybody hated the guy whose rack I pissed in. Ha! So I was a mini hero to the other guys.

I work in a county government office north of Baltimore. In the ten years I’ve been working there, it has been a tradition amongst a majority of employees to wear Ravens jerseys to work and it has been encouraged by the County Executive. For the past two weeks, I observed only a handful of folks wearing the horrid purple tops. The irony, of course, is that most Ravens fans in the Baltimore metro area are white. The mostly pays the Ravens’ bills by buying season tickets and all the merch. Karma’s a bitch, soul brothers.

As far as I can tell, the thing they’re really protesting is the fact that they’re black.

NFL black players are protesting that we don't believe them:

The pity party's over - the race card's a deuce - lies aren't working. The white liberal elites they prop up are losing... so they've lost.

“I was a mini hero to the other guys.”

All without really trying.
:-)

Like so many others, the day has been long and emotionally draining. Tonight we could sleep standing on our feet. LORD, we look for brighter tomorrows for our children and ourselves.
