Safety, religious bias, sexualization of the classroom are factors bolstering school-choice argument!
In his newly published book, The Corrupt Classroom, Lance Izumi of the Pacific Research Institute illustrates how the public school classroom has become increasingly politicized, with liberal teachers indoctrinating students with an anti-Trump and leftist agenda.
Izumi makes the case that while many school choice supporters rely on academic school performance data to show that public schools are failing, there are many other equally important reasons to support it.
"Many parents, for example, are rightly concerned about the growing politicization of the classroom," Izumi explains. "Far from being mere anecdotal incidentsand there are lot of thosepolitical bias is becoming systemic in public school systems and has turned many public schools into indoctrination centers for progressive ideologies and causes."
For example, the United Educators of San Francisco, a teachers' union, created an anti-Trump lesson plan and distributed it to 6,000 members. In the lesson plan, Trump was labeled a "racist and sexist man" and included only reports from left-wing sources such as Mother Jones. Teachers were instructed to tell students, "we will keep fighting" and "we must and will fight for justice against an unjust system and an unjust people."

“.. parents were outraged and complained that her violent message should not have a place in the classroom.
“..many more examples of how students were subjected to indoctrination in the classroom, including some who were asked to complete assignments with an anti-Trump bent or teachers who were very open about their liberal beliefsincluding one who yelled “Die!” in front of students at a photo of President Trump.”
“religious biases”
“sexualization in the classroom”
“public schools across America, teaching, curricula, and policies seem intended to disfavor Christianity and favor other religious faiths.”
I’d like an explanation why the Right allows Leftists to get away with this, without so much as a whisper in objection.
Our team should be screaming about it on the hilltops.
As for the use of the title “progressive” here, why do we play along with that? They are Leftists, communists, anarchists.
Progressive my ass, they are regressive, falling back on a system that has killed around 100 million people last century.

Because our team is used to people running our team such as Jebbie, or Kasich, or St. Pauli Girl Ryan, or McConnell, or Linda Graham...
Our team is used to leading from someone elses behind. St. Pauli Girl Ryan said he wanted Hillary as president because he could chase her behind. He is not a leader, just a coaster. Coasting to the next election. “Look at me work out,” he says. “With my hat on backwards, aren’t I hip? Hey, I can share my workout routine with you, and you can be hip, just like me.”
Great post - this is an issue that needs to be discussed...
How correct you are, they are brain washing our kids with leftist ideologies.
Here is my local public grade school. It is an “Environmental School” with an environmental focus integrated throughout the curriculum (global warming, anti-capitalist, etc.).

BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is present in the private schools, too. My son goes to a Baptist high school. They are given many anti-Trump messages including the one that it is un-Christian to build a wall.
The kid whose parents paid for the new baseball stadium was told by the history teacher that he should encourage his parents to vote for Bernie Sanders, because he would be able to go to college for free because only rich people would have to pay for it....
“It is present in the private schools, too.”
Yes, it is.
Many/most private schools really aren’t any better than the public schools.
Private schools claim to be better than public schools, well, just because. Actually, most private schools are better academically, but not necessarily any other ways.
A local, large Christian private school is very good academically, but they have also had many teen-age pregnancies, drug problems, etc., etc.
.. parents were outraged and complained...”
Now, show the decrease in said school enrollment as parents remove their brood to be properly educated elsewhere.
I’d bet $$ to donuts the %, if any, is quite small; parents themselves indoctrinated during their ‘education’ and the belief that “It’s not MY school/child that’s the problem, but ‘THEIRS’”
My first cousin is an elementary school teacher on Long Island, New York.
She and her husband are rather conservative and both voted for Trump.
She is in her fifties and has been teaching for many years.
She can’t stand most of her fellow teachers because of their left-wing politics.
She also told me that when she retires, she is only go to invite relatives to her home for her retirement party. My cousin told me she can’t stand to be around these moonbat “teachers.”
When the upheaval comes, many of these indoctrinators will be dealt with and it will not be pretty.

Because, they’re all corrupt and hypocrites. Rocking the boat would then shine the light upon their own support/do-nothing-about-it ‘agenda’
LOL - the children should be told most American children ARE going to free government schools NOW and that what Bernie would bring is AN extension of High School. Rather than grades K to 12 we would have grades K to 16. DO THEY REALLY WANT COLLEGE TO BE UNDER THE SAME GROUP THAT GIVES US K-12?
Is that really what these kids want ?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
