Its been a bad week for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Republican establishment. On Tuesday, Senate Republicans announced they did not have the votes to pass the Graham-Cassidy health spending bill, marking the second time in three months the GOP-controlled Senate has failed to repeal and replace Obamacare. Later that same day, Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, announced he would not run for reelection next year.
And of course on Tuesday night conservative firebrand and former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court Roy Moore easily won a Republican runoff election to fill the seat left vacant by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. He defeatedby 10 pointsappointed senator Luther Strange, who not only had the backing of the GOP establishment but an in-person endorsement last week from President Trump at a rally in Huntsville.
The Republican civil war has been dragging on for years, but this weeks trifecta of failures by GOP Senate leadership might be proof enough for disaffected Republican voters that the party simply cant govern. After twice failing to repeal Obamacare or accomplish much else, if McConnell cant manage to pass tax reform the Republican establishment might well be facing a Tea Party-type tidal wave of primary challenges in 2018 and 2020, perhaps against populist candidates like Moore.
If that means Republicans lose control of the Senate, it will be because GOP voters have so come to loathe McConnell and his men, theyve concluded that the risk of losing the Senate is worth it. And they might be right.

It bodes ill for the RINOs who are about to be primaried.
A Horrible 8 years the last years bodes very ill for democrats- President trump will ride these minor glitches out just fine- but the past 8 years have destroyed much of what this country once stood for- and President Trump is rectifying that- but liberals loathe him doing so- so of course they will try to blow Everything out of proportions- Sorry libs- We’re making America great again- little by little- read it and weep
We have a lot of Cantorizing to do.
Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.
There’s probably a hundred more in the House.
“voters have so come to loathe McConnell and his men”
That, my FRiend, is putting it lightly, politely.
To quote a phrase: “YOU’RE FIRED, get OUT of here”.
Self-inflicted by the GOPe. I thought is was a great week with Judge Moore's victory and all!
It was a great week if you want to see GOP Inc become extinct.
Who doesn't?
I would not be surprised if GOPe wanted to sacrifice a few members in 2018 in both houses just so they could get Trump impeached, why else to explain this behavior
