DELPHI, Ind.– Indiana State Police (ISP) said Thursday a man arrested in Colorado is now considered a “person of interest” in the murders of two Delphi teenagers.
Daniel Nations, 31, was arrested Monday in Colorado after police say he was driving with expired Indiana plates. He’s also accused of threatening people with a hatchet on a Colorado trail.

One of the victims turned on the recorder app on her cell phone before being murdered. This was found by the police.
One of the victims not only took a couple of pictures but recorded his voice. (We know this to be a fact. We were just not told how long he spoke or what he said)
Thank you for the ping! Yes, I read this news earlier today on the Daily Mail. Case still makes my blood run cold and I often think of those girls. I feel the artist drawing and mugshots of this guy look quite alike. He appears to have perhaps lost weight. Threatening people on a nature trail with a hatchet? He sounds like an absolute maniac.
If only there were some way to hold the people who allow these scum to go free accountable.
He may also have been involved in that murder of the bicyclist in Colorado!
Very true. Seems he kept driving by the site of the shooting and someone felt it was suspicious and took a picture (i think) of his car. That is how they tracked him down. It pays to err on the side of suspicion I guess. Had that person not noticed, this guy would still be running around. Sounds like he wants to add serial killer to his rap sheet, which is long to begin with.
There are several photos of the suspect and one of them is absolutely chilling because of the likeness with the police sketch. Sadly, I heard the hatchet might have been the murder weapon used in killing the girls. I hope not.
News reports here in Indiana say the similarity was with the bicyclist killed by gunshot.
I've always though it was somebody local or at least knew the area and the trails...
that trail isn't like its far away from people...its near a major highway....

Yes, I think this guy looks very like the artist drawing. If you look at his various other mug shots, you can see he has a tendency to gain or lose weight. What is weird is that there is now a lot of silence going on. I guess we can only assume the police are being as careful as possible to create a case. They haven’t released a lot of information about the murder of these girls....they are being extremely careful.
I can not imagine the fate those little girls faced. If it is this guy, he has a record of sexual abuse and the thought is just horrible. It sure seems like it could be him but I am thinking not because there should be DNA at the crime scene and if there is a match, I think he would have been charged already. Unless, they are tying an accomplice in with the case, like maybe the wife. We will see.
