Networks not showing fans booing kneeling players during anthem
American Thinker ^ | 09/28/2017 | Rick Moran

Networks broadcasting NFL games refused to allow camera shots of angry fans booing kneeling players during the national anthem. The Sporting News also reports that one behind the scenes TV employee said that networks told the camera operators not to pan the crowd during the anthem which would have showed what viewers could easily hear; booing fans.

Networks typically do not televise the national anthem except for the Super Bowl and other special occasions, but they recognized there would be intense viewer interest this past weekend.

Some fans, if they reacted at all, happily clapped and cheered during protests, but others did not, and they angrily let their home teams know it. The audio mics picked up the boos. Yet the TV networks mostly avoided crowd shots Sunday, so there was never a chance for viewers to see fans jeering players.

A segment of Patriots fans in Foxborough, Mass., for example, nearly booed their own players off the field when some Pats sat or kneeled, with some screaming, "Stand up!"

What is happening here is easy to see. Recent polls have shown that, while the public doesn't want teams to fire players who kneel, by wide margins they want the players to stand. (Of course, the stories about the polls all highlighted the public "disagreeing" with Trump about firing the players and not agreeing with Trump that the players should stand.)

In fact, the whole game is to isolate those who don't agree with the protests and make them feel alone. But anyone who had the sound up during the playing of the anthem last Sunday could hear the outpouring of anger and booing at the players.

No indeed. The networks are complicit in this thing because they lose money if they show the truth. If a single section of fans does link arms in solidarity, that’s where the cameras will go.

Went to the NHL Cap's preseason game last night against the Devils...all fans and players alike stood, as I expected them too (although how many player are actually American is a tough question in this sport).

Regardless, was super happy when the arena broke out into chants of USA USA USA

It would not surprise me if they go and package fan shots from 2015 into the live broadcasts. They’ve probably got fifteen minutes of coverage ready to go and can use it for fan scene action. Fans might want to tape this whole game and review the fan scenes for the fake shots.

They did the same thing with the last Presidential election... if the facts didn’t fit the MSM agenda, they were omitted.

They call THAT ‘journalism’

Ironic that in the NHL, the majority of the players are either Canadian or European, whereas the NFL consists almost entirely of US Citizens.

Nor do they want the TV audience to see the empty seats in the stadiums.

Remember when Hillary Clinton was booed at the 9/11 Concert for New York City, but VH1 replaced the boos with cheers for the DVD?

But, but, the networks are at best, Dems. Didn’t then-Speaker Tip O’Neill (D), have the CSPAN camera(s) pan the empty House chamber that Newt Gingrich would playing to?

I hate to break out the news, but people with cellphones ARE going to start posting videos on YouTube, Vimeo and Daily Motion showing the loud booing against the players during the playing of the National Anthem. That will guarantee the NFL can't ignore the problem anymore as "citizen journalists" by pass the MSM filter to show the real truth.

Yeah, after I posted that I was wondering, why wait to let the fans do it? Just stage it. It'd be easy to do. Set up the cameras ahead of time, check the lighting, frame it up so only the ringers would be seen, heck, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

There's a lot, lot, lot of money involved in maintaining the NFL's image, and the networks' stake is the same as the teams'. Both of those factions are hoping this thing blows over or can be spun away. They're both wrong.

I am a supporter of the NFLs new marketing program to reduce their fan base as well as those pesky revenue streams.

Wondering if this got televised, and if not, how they avoided televising it (e.g. Cutting to announcers in a sound booth, etc).

What a fustercluck for NFL and the msm...

If we could get Donald Trump elected, we can take down the NFL.
