Security measures in place for national anthem at Lambeau

The NFL controversy is impacting the Packers vs. Bears game Thursday at Lambeau Field. Green Bay Police officers have been told to be extra vigilant during the national anthem.

Tensions are high over this issue, and police want to make sure nothing gets out of hand in the crowd.

Packers players released a statement Wednesday sharing their plans. They will lock arms like they did this past Sunday, and they're urging everyone who attends the game, to do the same.

The team's statement reads in part: "It will represent a coming together of players (and people) who want the same things that all of us do - freedom, equality, tolerance, understanding, and justice for those who have been unjustly treated, discriminated against, or otherwise treated unfairly."

This comes after President Donald Trump had harsh words for NFL players who kneel or sit during the National Anthem and their team owners.

On Sunday, three Packers players sat on the bench during the national anthem.

There are people on both sides of the issue, who are extremely passionate about their own viewpoint.

Coach Mike McCarthy says he's proud of the way his players are handling it.

"Like anything in life, you're never going to have everybody feel 100 percent the same way, but it's just something that we talk about a lot as a football team, because I always want to make sure the 'why' we are we doing something is explained," McCarthy said. "To me there's a lot of things that are being said, but more importantly I think it's a time to listen. I think everybody can do a better job of listening, and make sure the messages that are trying to be delivered are heard."

So has the NFL changed its official policy, which is for players to stand at attention with his helmet tucked under the player’s left (IIRC) arm?

In a just world, the second an NFL player kneels or otherwise does anything worse than standing respectfully for the anthem, the GBPD should walk out of the stadium and let the NFL thugs who disrespect them provide their own crowd control and security.

Stand at attention and put your hand over your heart during the playing of our National Anthem, any other conduct is unacceptable!

No, “locking arms”will not represent any kind of unity. There was already unity as Americans by standing and saluting the flag properly. The “unity” of which they speak in locking arms, merely means unity to their agenda.

So they want everyone in the audience to buy into their false narrative. That’s what this boils down to. They can take a hike.

If some stranger tried to lock my arms, I might just punch him in the face.

If I was a Green Bay police officer I would be calling in sick tonight. They can protect their own sorry asses.

I have a pretty good idea that doesnt cost the season ticket holders a whole lot of money - they should stay in the parking lot and tailgate till the end of the first quarter & let the cameras show all the empty seats.

If I were at the game and somebody tried to lock arms with me, they're going to get one right across the kisser.

So I don’t get it. Are they going to lock arms and stand for the anthem, or are they going to lock arms and kneel for the anthem? If Kneel, I would boo the hell out of them but that won’t happen because I will not spent one dime on anything affiliated with the NFL until they apologize to the veterans and the American public for their disrespectful behavior.

The NFL should change it’s name to “DNC”.

Truth in advertising...

I think any fans who show up ought to don pink pu$$y hats in recognition of the NFL’s collective gutlessness.

I foresee the leftists doing everything they can to fill the Packers stands with useful idiots willing to link arms in order to try to make Trump look bad. Probably have some Soros money come in to pay for it, too.

And to the flag of all Americans. They can stand and salute properly, as is precedent and tradition, or they’re submitting to the agenda. And then they have the nerve to try to draw the fans into supporting this agenda also.
