SAN JOSE, Calif. — Sharks forward Joel Ward tells The Mercury News he might take a knee during the national anthem at an upcoming game, becoming the first NHL player to join the protests that started in the NFL and drew criticism from President Donald Trump.

NHL, I canceled Sunday Ticket. I will have no problem cancelling Center Ice. I also usually spend several hundred dollars a year on NFL and NHL gear. Have not spent a dime on NFL since this crap started last year. Will do the same to the NHL.

I wouldn’t be surprised. The owner should suspend him immediately. The NHL has no margin of error in it’s financials. The biggest revenue source is ticket sales and if Ward starts this crap, it could have serious consequences for the league.
