'BURN THE NFL': Americans are destroying football jerseys after players kneel in Protest

Some football fans are raging against players' decision to demonstrate during the national anthem.

After more than a year of Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players sitting and kneeling during the national anthem, the controversy over their protests has reached a tipping point.

More players than ever before knelt or sat during the anthem on Sunday, after Trump argued that those who did so should be suspended or fired.

On Friday, Trump said: "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b---- off the field right now, out — he's fired!'"

Some NFL fans who agree with Trump showed their support of the president — and their anger at players — by burning their teams' merchandise.

Robert Smith posted a video of himself on Sunday burning more than $1,000 worth of Pittsburgh Steelers merchandise, the Daily Mail reported. Earlier that day, the Steelers had not participated in the anthem, with the exception of offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, who served three tours of duty as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan before beginning his NFL career...

We need a couple dozen Papale’s to suit up - could probably fill a small stadium in protest ...

Thirty years ago...most NFL players made roughly what an average American income was.

Today? It’s a collection of millionaire players, a millionaire coach, a millionaire general manager, led by a millionaire owner. The system only works...as a pyramid scheme, if you, the common working man, are willing to pay $131 for an average Chicago Bears home-game....to watch a marginally competent team in 2016 achieve a 3-13 record.

Is it really worth it?

In their zeal to hate on Trump they made a big wrong move.

And now people are hearing about their hypocrisy and what this entire thing started about with CK.
When people realize it all started as a anti police sentiment.

I swore off pro sports except only casually if it happens to be on where I just happen to be; about the same time they started make ridiculous amounts of money to PLAY A GAME.

Now, I get that football has a lot of injuries and so do some other pro sports, but getting paid millions is nuts. No one except the quarterback should make more than $100k these days IMHO.

Some football fans are raging against players' decision to demonstrate during the national anthem.

Rage is a good word to describe the reaction of the fans and many more people. To me the players are saying that they hate the United States. Who taught them that?

The actual basis of their protest is fundamentally unclear and open ended, not anything in particular but that some people do bad things. What is new about that?

I think that our football teams should find another country, and get out of the USA.

I will reconsider turning my tv back on in a year or so. No more football for me, professional or college.

Hockey season starts soon.

That's better than watching the 2-14 losers who were led by Colin K. Either way, NFL is now in my past - this is no longer a recoverable error.

I’ve heard Villanueva has said he regrets coming out of the tunnel. The black coach was pissed because he said he wanted 100% participation. So, now they want to force a vet to support people who protest.

I sat this morning and looked over the Chicago Bears and their pay listing. It’s almost 9-million dollars going out to players who are no longer on the team.

An example...Lamaar Houston...now a free agent...has the Bears still paying 1.7 million coming in. C. J. Wilson still has $180,000 coming in, but he’s a free agent.

These are all people on some kind of millionaire welfare deal, where you are supporting some stupid business strategy that most Americans would just laugh about.

For some reason I’m just not into college football this year. Never have watched pro. Cut cable several years ago.

I’m watching most if the games on free tv but it’s not mandatory like it used to be.

Listen to his entire statement. I still support him. Some stories trying to say he regrets standing. That is not the case.

College game needs to be boycotted too, since the Anti-American sentitment begins at most of these institutions.

Hockey season starts soon.

NBC is going to get a YUGE windfall from this drama. Heck, I could write the ad copy:

"Watch the NHL! We always stand for the Anthem!"

Don’t get dragged into the weeds with each of these incidents. Gain cognitive altitude and take the 30,000 ft. panoramic view. This is just the latest incremental “progressive” assault on American institutions and traditions in an attempt to “overwhelm the system” and unravel the American mainstream fabric. Other such assaults include, but are not limited to: the war on law enforcement; gays in the military; the forced removal of historical statues and monuments; transgendered restrooms; the purging of free speech and opposing views from academia; unfettered illegal immigration; the promotion of multiculturalism and its effect on American cultural homogeneity; the gender identity manipulation of grade-schoolers; overt “progressive” mainstream media activism and their destructive manipulation of popular opinion and thought; the rise of “identity politics” as a means to divide Americans into discrete victim groups for political and cultural exploitation; proposed changing of presidential images on U.S. currency; the rash of liberal activist judicial decisions that subvert America’s ability to defend itself from external and internal threats; questioning the validity of the electoral college; historical revisionism and the dumbing-down of academic and intellectual standards; the sustained assault on the 2nd Amendment’s right to keep and bear arms; and, the list goes on and on. The NFL protests are just the most recent. There will be many, many others.

College football is really great. I think I’ll just park myself there.

It’s not like you’re losing anything of value.
