Don't let media distort the NFL conflict: The American People are speaking!
American Thinker ^ | 09/25/2017 | Russ Vaughn

There's no question that President Trump tossed a live grenade into the NFL's locker room during his Alabama speech the other night that has set off countless secondary explosions throughout the league and across the media spectrum.

Too many in the left-wing media want to play down the fact that this entire mess began with one player, Colin Kaepernick, radicalized by his lefty girlfriend, demonstrating his support for the Black Lives Matter campaign against America's police forces.  Now, I can understand how young men in their physical prime could find this a sympathetic view, as many of them too frequently find themselves in direct conflict with America's police due to alcohol- and testosterone-fueled incidents of physical violence, often involving their wives or girlfriends.  However, the more important consideration is that BLM's campaign against cops is not one that finds wide favor among the citizenry at large, the folks who support the NFL with their fandom.

And that, folks, is the issue here.  The owners and the NFL commissioner chose to permit these demonstrations against America's police to continue despite of the fact that they further alienate a large segment of a fan base already disaffected by the injection of leftist political views into media coverage of their game broadcasts.  If you think I'm exaggerating on alienation, just Google up some images of the recent SF 49ers-LA Rams game and look at all those empty seats.  This may be the worst case of no-shows to date, but it's a growing occurrence at other stadiums, and television viewership is down as well.  The American people are speaking, telling those defiant football players that America supports law enforcement, not black criminality, and the NFL owners and management ignore them to their ultimate peril.

Deam, MSM Parrots --

Please explain to the class what Thomas Jefferson had in mind when he asserted that the protection of the Republic covered "infidels of every denomination" - and how Colin Kaepernick, NFL "Family" "man", and his America-hating Islamic playmates, plan on continuing that tradition (which is represented, among other things, by standing during the National Anthem)?

We'll, STAND, and wait.

I started the ball rolling today to leave USAA after 40 years of insurance coverage. Their total tone deafness on the issue of a military themed insurance company sponsoring the NFL and their paternalistic answers to those asking them to stop is the final straw for me. I hate to leave them but I will not have my money supporting a group of dumb, clueless jocks who are self important because they make a lot of money but haven’t got a clue about the real world.

I keep hearing Major Sports Figures "explain" to me that this is not about Race.

But ... it is.

It totally is. Ask Colin.

The NFL commissioners were not so understanding of Tim Tebow. WHY does someone of darker skin pigment get away with his idiosyncraciies, and the other is hung and driven away.

It’s like these clowns are actually proud of how much they hate their country.

Growing up-I always heard the expression: ‘You don’t s%$t where you eat’.

Maybe they never understood that one.

And many better wake up. The NFL, the players, the owners, the sponsors. America is the home of the brave and the land of the free.

This is not a color matter, this is an American matter. And if you do not like America, leave and go where you will be happy.

The issue has nothing to do with Kapernick's freedom of speech -- ZERO. He is free to believe whatever he chooses to believe and express whatever he wants.

What IS the issue, is that he chose to express his opinion, in the exact moment set aside to honor our country, our freedoms, and those who fought and sacrificed for those freedoms.

These players are not exercising freedom of speech. They are deliberately desecrating the moment set aside to honor our country.

There are 168 hours in a week. What these players choose to do or say for 167 hours, 56 and a half minutes is up to them, but for THOSE 3 and a half minutes, they need to respect the nation and the very umbrella under which they are free to express their opinions.

These NFL multimillionaire players who are kneelers, sitters, and no shows for the National Anthem are COWARDS - and spitting in the face of America, our military, our veterans, and those wounded and killed in the line of duty to give these morons the FREEDOMS they have today. Our Freedom is NOT FREE. Almost none of these crybaby rich brats ever served our country in the military (the exception is a guy like Villanueva on the Steelers - the only MAN on that team).

Go play football in some third world craphole like those I fought in as a US Army Combat Infantryman.

“The NFL commissioners were not so understanding of Tim Tebow. WHY does someone of darker skin pigment get away with his idiosyncraciies, and the other is hung and driven away”

My theory (not too “tinfoiley” :-) )?

Almost every NFL stadium is largely funded by taxpayer dollars. The NFL is the largest spectator sport in the USA and lures the most eyeballs to their TV game show each week. Liberals knew that the NFL would be a huge platform to spew their nonsense so they didn’t mind blowing millions, make that billions of taxpayer dollars on the stadiums. Knowing what liberals are like, I can’t see them handing that money over to build that crap (and it is “crap” ... they do NOTHING for a region) w/o some kind of kickbacks from the league. If they want the other peoples money that liberals “control” for a new stadium, they had better spew the company line. That’s why Tebow gets maligned and turning your back on the United States is heralded!

Liberals constantly whine about tax money going to big business ... however, you *rarely* see them bitch about stadiums (some will, but they’re more the “true believer” kind of liberal vs. the programmed masses they control). Take a closer look at the various agendas the NFL has pushed over the past 15 years ... they all fall in line with liberalism.

Don’t be surprised if you start seeing liberal garbage being spewed from MLB, NBA, and the NHL next as many of their playgrounds are funded by taxpayer money ... quite frankly, I think a lot of these stadium deals need to be investigated ... taxpayers get NOTHING back from these “deals” ... if you take a closer look at how Bob Nutting runs the Pittsburgh Pirates (as an example), you’ll see he’s simply using the team to fund his other business interests on the back of the baseball team. Is it really the responsibility of taxpayers to fund that kind of nonsense?

The media promotes minority views as if they are majority. In this case, a few social justice warriors that play football.

The leftist news media have commandeered the sports media to their cause. Brilliant move for them, but it won’t endure.
