WASHINGTON — An updated version of the Graham-Cassidy health care bill circulating among lobbyists and on Capitol Hill on Sunday night has changed to provide more benefits to Alaska, a move to appeal to Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who has been highly skeptical of efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
The new version would grandfather Native Alaskans into Medicaid so they wouldn't lose coverage after the expanded Medicaid program is rolled back in 2020, according to a section-by-section summary of the new legislation obtained by an industry lobbyist

Go ahead Pubs, change the redistribution, because this is a lot of what it is all about, isn’t it. Change Obama’s blatant redistribution favoritism to blue states, to some needy red states that were systematically screwed over by the Obama Admin. I’m all for it, and if it is politically advantageous to assure getting those states’ Senators votes, so be it.
This is political warfare, and the time has come to stop playing by the King’s rules and fight back as below the belt as the Dems have been doing for years and years. Otherwise, our side will lose big-time, as usual, and do you really want that? You may die with your boots on, but you will die. I say fight now on every level or all will be lost.

Is this going to change anything? McCain, Paul and Cruz have all said they’d be no votes. Collins too I think has said she’s a likely no. This bill seems as dead as the rest.
It’s a spenderiffic big... what did you expect from an insurance company bailout? Giving states more federal money... only if the meet low tax and spend targets. Not this bill.. it’s all out spending.

When Ben Nelson made sure the original Obamacare passed, he was also given some “sweeteners” (the Cornhusker Kickback). The VA hospital replacement was moved up from about 10th in line to 1st in the replacement list. Very shortly after Obamacare passed, it was lowered in steps over the next few years to about 12th on the list.
