The sports world has responded to President Trumps criticisms of NFL players who protest against the national anthem. On Friday night, Trump gave a fiery speech in Huntsville, Alabama, while speaking at a rally for Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange. President Trump referred to NFL players who protest the anthem as as SOBs. He also said that it would be a winning public relations move if an NFL owner were to fire a player for such a protest.
Trump said:
See the video at the link.
By Saturday evening, the NFL Players Association, Commissioner Goodell, and the leadership of several different NFL franchises, had responded to Trump.

It will, but I for one and many other fans have had it.
When you stand back, and clearly listen to and watch the sports mentality in action, it is supremely idiotic.
Tune into a sports radio show, and watch grown men call in and feverishly shout and passionately debate why Bisquiteen Trisket is a better receiver than Nyquillus Dillwad. It is ridiculous.
There are betting things to do with ones life.
This is one of those times I’m glad to not be a football fan. I was at the office the other day and was busting on a co-worker for his Redskins logo on his shirt. (His wife works for the team) I told him that if I ever had to buy a jersey, it would be Redskins even though I’ve never seen them play a single down.
NASCAR would be wise to take advantage of this controversy. They are highly patriotic. I suspect any driver who takes the knee won’t make it to lap five without an up close and personal meeting with the wall.
But, I fear the leadership is too stupid in other ways to take advantage of the controversy
he has nothing to do with Home Depot. Zero.
His name is still very much associated with the firm in people’s minds. I don’t see why Home Depot couldn’t issue a statement disavowing his actions. That would clear it up.
I posted that because some still think Jones told his players they’d be fired if they didn’t stand for the flag.
Amen, amen.
Keep sports non-political.
Protest on your OWN time, not on the job.
Disrespectful NFL players and disrespectful illegals sure like our patriot-hard earned $$$, don’t they? But, they can’t stand our flag or our traditions. Got it.
No thanks.
I also hope fans who still choose to attend bring American flags. Lots and lots of American flags, and wave them. Wear red, white, and or blue. Wear blue arm bands as a show of respect for LE. Wear their MAGA hats to the game.
Let me summarize for those who haven’t been following: Racist football player is benched because he sucks, takes advice of racist girlfriend and disrespects white people (disguising it as a protest against police brutality), wears a t-shirt that glorifies a mass-murderer, other black players see that the NFL isn’t reacting to their overt hatred of white people, Commissioner reveals himself as a cuckold, ratings drop across the board because of the obvious anti-white sentiment being shown across the league, Trump makes a Tweet showing the sentiments of millions of Americans and HE is then labeled as divisive by idiots...did I miss anything?
These guys must think they are Federal employees since working for the government is the only job where you can treat the customer like zhit and still get paid.
You missed the fact that I don’t care about the Ghetto Football League.
You are exactly right! This is crazy. Both sides are urging boycott of the NFL.
‘Donald Trump is all about the little guys standing up to the big guys.’
I think that is a great point. The Left has been the big guy now for what, 50 years. The bottom line of the left, in my opinion, is for anyone with a different opinion to just shut up. They don’t want dialogue, comparison, or debate. They want you to just be quiet, so there playground is not upset. The Left has no honor.
Irony: team is named Patriots
The accidental billionaires who own NFL teams are in a very tough spot here.
“Methinks the owners are scared of blacks.”
Of course they are. Or, more exactly, having re-designed their game around television, and realizing that one-on-one violence is what sells product, and as with all visual products that are used to sell, constant escalation is needed - they are now at the mercy of the thugs they have created.
