If you can’t see that calling Trump a narcissist is a very deficient assessment of his character then it would be best for you to limit the extent to which you discuss concepts of personality.

Perhaps you are not aware that every businessman is a gambler? To invest money and precious time to obtain a profit in the market of ideas and products, risks must be taken. Trump is a businessman. Trump, operating on the business principle, must take risks. That necessarily makes him a gambler, a foregone conclusion prerequisite to all his decisions.

But that role is not what I was referring to. It's how one handles that role that counts.

You can make a business decision (which is always a gamble, hopefully with odds greatly in your favor) based on living up to your word, despite the cost in what some brayers might say about you. Or on the other hand, driven by your narcissism, you might not want to admit your decision was made without regard for the confidence placed in you by the people counting on your faithfulness.

In the first case, if you have given your word, but find out that it was a mistake, you say, "I made a mistake, but I kept my word, my promises," which might be humiliating, but acceptable, and not compromising your integrity.

But in the second case if someone played on your narcissism and conned you to seek after your own profit rather than uphold your integrity, your narcissism won't let you say, "I made a mistake." In this case you could say, "I might have made a mistake," hoping that neither your credulous supporters nor your well-financed risky candidate and his backers will be driven away in the outcome.

But the likelihood in this matter is that both will depart, in which case Trump's perfidious behavior will be seen by all (again).

When is the last time you ever heard of The Donald being humble enough regarding political matters, to say, "I made a mistake." No, if Roy Moore is elected, he will say, "I might have made a mistake," hoping to keep the conservative base that elected him on his promises.

On the other hand, if Luther Strange wins, and he gets the favors due from Strange and McConnell, he will still say, "I might have made a mistake," and let it ride.

As far as I'm concerned, Donald's big mistake was to bow to the big-bucks RINOs to curry their favor in some other matter, by letting them extend Strange's temporary seat into a permanent one, rather than backing the true blue swamp-drainer Moore, which would have been consistent with keeping his own election promise of bringing the Constitution back into Washington and "draining the swamp." Strange is just another of McConnell's fellow swamp critters, as he has already shown while temping as a Senator. They have entered the conservative camp and absconded with the principal player!

I'm not the game player, it's you that can't grasp that I said that Trump is one of the those individuals that wallow in selfish narcissism, and it affects his political deportment and the reliability of the United States when he is the leader.

If it's "Goodbye," fine. You'll have to get somebody else to do your thinking. I hate having to explain that which to a real conservative is painfully obvious and obviously painful. It takes too much time.

You can see that amihow in Post #42 above got the idea right away.

I realize you went to a lot of time and trouble, but I only read the first sentence. Here’s why. The point of the person you originally responded to was that Trump is not a Narcissist. Your response included the following:

Balderdash. ... Trump is a full time one.

When I asked a full time what, all you had to do was say, ‘Gambler.’

End of story.

Otherwise there was always the possibility that you are one of those drearily mistaken people who imagine Trump is a Narcissist.
